Miss Teen USA 1987
Miss Teen USA 1987, the 5th Miss Teen USA pageant, was televised live from El Paso Civic Center, El Paso, Texas on July 21, 1987. At the conclusion of the final competition, Kristi Lynn Addis of Mississippi was crowned by outgoing queen Allison Brown of Oklahoma. This was the only year that the pageant was held in El Paso. It would not return to Texas until Miss Teen USA 1997, the first of three years it was held on South Padre Island. The 1987 event was hosted by Michael Young, with colour commentary from Tracy Scoggins. Kristi Addis
Kristi Lynn Addis Hickman is an American beauty queen from Holcomb, Mississippi, who was Miss Teen USA 1987. Biography Hickman was named Miss Mississippi Teen USA 1987 and went on to win the Miss Teen USA title on July 21, 1987, in El Paso, Texas. She remains today as the only Miss Teen USA pageant winner from Mississippi. She remained in school during her year as Miss Teen USA and traveled on weekends and holidays, advocating for Nancy Reagan's "Just Say No" program in schools. As Miss Teen USA she received prizes worth $150,000, attended a festival in Acapulco and received a part in the television series ''The New Gidget''. In high school Addis was a point guard on the three-time state championship-winning basketball team and was one of Mississippi's best high school mile runners. Miss North Dakota Teen USA
The Miss North Dakota Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of North Dakota in the Miss Teen USA pageant. Compared to the sister Miss North Dakota USA pageant, North Dakota Teen USAs have been quite successful at Miss Teen USA, and are ranked fifteenth in terms of number and value of placement North Dakota is one of only ten states to have had nine or more semifinalist (or better) placements at Miss Teen US Despite this, no Miss North Dakota Teen USA has ever won the Miss Teen USA crown, though both Audra Mari and Caitlyn Vogel finished as 1st runner-up in 2011 and 2019 respectively. Miss Texas Teen USA
The Miss Texas Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Texas in the Miss Teen USA pageant. This pageant is part of the Miss USA organization, owned by Texas native Crystle Stewart, who was Miss USA for 2008. Texas is in the top 5 most successful states at Miss Teen USA in terms of number and value of placements. Alongside Oregon they are the only two states to have produced three winners. Miss Teen USA 1983
Miss Teen USA is a beauty pageant formerly run, since 1983, by the Miss Universe Organization for girls aged 14–19. Unlike its sister pageants Miss Universe, which currently broadcasts on Fox and Miss USA, this pageant is webcast on the Miss Teen USA website and simulcast on mobile devices and video game consoles. The Miss Universe Organization previously operated Miss Teen USA, as well as Miss USA, until 2020 when the rights to produce both pageants were licensed to Miss USA 2008 Crystle Stewart. The Miss Arizona Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Arizona in the Miss Teen USA pageant and the title held by that winner. The first Arizona Teen to place at Miss Teen USA was Jeri-Lynn Beatty who made the top 12 in 1990. The Miss Rhode Island Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Rhode Island in the Miss Teen USA pageant and the name of the title held by that winner. Massachusetts has had a number of semi-finalist placings but is not one of the most successful states at Miss Teen USA. Their best placement was in 2001, when Marianna Zaslavsky placed 2nd runner-up to Marissa Whitley. The most notable Miss Massachusetts Teen USA is Susie Castillo, who went on to win the Miss Massachusetts USA and Miss USA crowns.
