Miss Philippines Earth 2006
Miss Philippines Earth 2006 was the 6th edition of the Miss Philippines Earth pageant. It was held on May 14, 2006 at the University of the Philippines Theater in Quezon City, Philippines. The event was broadcast by ABS-CBN Network in the Philippines and The Filipino Channel internationally. Genebelle Raagas, Miss Philippines Earth 2005 crowned her successor Catherine Untalan as Miss Philippines Earth 2006 at the conclusion of the event. Untalan won against 23 other candidates and became the representative of Philippines in the international Miss Earth 2006 beauty pageant. The pageant The twenty-four candidates that competed for the Miss Philippines 2006 title were formally presented at the poolside of Hotel Intercontinental in Makati on April 21, 2007. Catherine "Cathy" Yu Untalan-Vital is a Filipino environmentalist, fashion model, psychologist, and beauty queen. She competed and won the beauty title of Miss Philippines-Earth 2006 and the international Miss Earth Water 2006. She is the executive director of Miss Earth Foundation, the environmental-social-humanitarian outreach arm of Miss Earth beauty pageant. Miss Earth 2005, the fifth edition of the Miss Earth pageant, was held on October 23, 2005, in Quezon City, Philippines. A total of 80 candidates from around the globe took part in the event. At the conclusion of the pageant, Alexandra Braun of Venezuela was crowned Miss Earth 2005 by outgoing titleholder, Miss Earth 2004, Priscilla Meirelles of Brazil. Like Brazil, Venezuela made history by becoming the second country to win all the Big Four international beauty pageants. Northern Mindanao Region
Northern Mindanao ( tl, Hilagang Mindanao; ceb, Amihanang Mindanao; Maranao: ''Pangotaraan Mindanao'') is an administrative region in the Philippines, designated as Region X. It comprises five provinces: Bukidnon, Camiguin, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental, and Lanao del Norte, and two cities classified as ''highly urbanized'', all occupying the north-central part of Mindanao island, and the island-province of Camiguin.
