Miss Perú 2017
Due to restructuring in the Miss Peru Organization, the national pageant was prevented to be held earlier in the year as originally planned. Jessica Newton, national Director of the Miss Perú pageant planned a special ceremony on September 22 that took place at the Country Club Lima Hotel in San Isidro, Lima, Peru. The outgoing titleholder, Valeria Piazza of Lima crowned her successor, Prissila Howard of Piura at the end of the event. The crowning featured the assistance of special guest Miss Universe 2016, Iris Mittenaere of France. Howard was appointed to represent Peru at Miss Universe 2017. She was the first runner-up at the 2016 edition of the national pageant. She represented Peru at Miss Grand International 2016 in Las Vegas where she placed in the Top 10, finishing sixth overall. Prissila Stephany Howard Neira (born 21 September 1991) is a Peruvian model, TV Host and beauty pageant titleholder who won Miss Peru 2017 and represented Peru at the Miss Universe 2017 pageant. Early life Howard was born in Piura but she grew up in Lima. She studied and graduated in Human Resources and Business Administration in Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas. Miss Peru 2015
The final of the Miss Perú 2015 pageant was held on the night June 2, 2015 at the Belmond Miraflores Park Hotel. It was the first year under the new Miss Peru Organization, marking the comeback of Jessica Newton as national director. The first cut to a Top 20 was chosen on May 2, in a press conference. Later on May 14, the second cut to a Top 10 and Special Awards was chosen during a live broadcast by América Televisión and later to a Top 5. On a private ceremony, an eventual Top 3 was decided to participate for the national crown. The outgoing titleholder, Jimena Espinoza of Region Lima crowned her successor, Laura Spoya of Lima at the end of the event. Laura Spoya, Spoya represented Peru at Miss Universe 2015. Amazonas () is a department and region in northern Peru bordered by Ecuador on the north and west, Cajamarca on the west, La Libertad on the south, and Loreto and San Martín on the east.
