Miss Normandy
Miss Normandy (french: Miss Normandie) is a French beauty pageant which selects a representative for the Miss France national competition from the region of Normandy. Women representing the region under various different titles have competed at Miss France since 1952, although the Miss Normandy title was not used regularly until 1979. The current Miss Normandy is Perrine Prunier, who was crowned Miss Normandy 2022 on 21 October 2022. A beauty pageant is a competition that has traditionally focused on judging and ranking the physical attributes of the contestants. Pageants have now evolved to include inner beauty, with criteria covering judging of personality, intelligence, talent, character, and charitable involvement, through private interviews with judges and answers to public on-stage questions. The term beauty pageant refers originally to the Big Four international beauty pageants. Pageant titles are subdivided into Miss, Mrs. or Ms., and Teen – to clearly identify the difference between pageant divisions. Hundreds and thousands of beauty contests are held annually, but the Big Four are considered the most prestigious, widely covered and broadcast by media. Miss France 2020 was the 90th edition of the Miss France pageant, held on 14 December 2019 at the Le Dôme de Marseille in Marseille. Vaimalama Chaves of Tahiti crowned her successor Clémence Botino of Guadeloupe by the end of the event. She represented France at Miss Universe 2021, placing in the top 10. Miss France 2013 was the 83rd Miss France pageant, held in Limoges on 8 December 2012. Miss France 2012, Delphine Wespiser of Alsace crowned her successor Marine Lorphelin of Burgundy at the end of the event. It was the first time that the pageant took place in Limoges and in the Limousin region. It was presented by the national director Sylvie Tellier and Jean-Pierre Foucault for the 18th consecutive year. The event was broadcast live by TF1. Sées () is a commune in the Orne department in north-western France. It lies on the river Orne from its source and north-by-northeast of Alençon.
