Miss Murgatroid
Alicia J. Rose is a photographer, filmmaker and musician based in Portland, Oregon. Her photography has been featured in Rolling Stone, XLR8R, V, Elle, Spin, Sunset, Filter, Fader, Portland Monthly, NY Times, Wall Street Journal, Sunset and many others. A photograph she took of chef Naomi Pomeroy, of the Portland restaurant Beast, holding a dead pig, received significant attention and was honored with a 2008 PDN Photo Annual Award and a multiple page spread in ''Elle'' Magazine. Rose has directed music videos for Cake, Corin Tucker, Bob Mould, Menomena, Laura Gibson and others. She completed her narrative short film debut ''The Gift of Gravity'' in 2014, and created the comedic web series The Benefits of Gusbandry'. She is currently in pre-production on her first feature film project - the music/narrative/hybrid "A Kaddish For Bernie Madoff" in collaboration with poet/musician Alicia Jo Rabins. Cake (band)
Cake is an alternative rock band from Sacramento, California, consisting of singer John McCrea, trumpeter Vince DiFiore, guitarist Xan McCurdy, bassist Daniel McCallum, and drummer Todd Roper. The band has been noted for McCrea's sarcastic lyrics and deadpan vocals, and their wide-ranging musical influences, including norteño, country music, mariachi, rock, funk, folk music, and hip hop. Cake was formed in 1991 by McCrea, DiFiore, Greg Brown (guitar), Frank French (drums), and Shon Meckfessel (bass) who soon left and was replaced by Gabe Nelson. Justin Townes Earle
Justin Townes Earle (January 4, 1982August 20, 2020) was an American singer-songwriter and musician. After his debut, EP ''Yuma'' (2007), he released eight full-length albums. He was recognized with an Americana Music Award for Emerging Artist of the Year in 2009 and for Song of the Year in 2011 for " Harlem River Blues". His father is alternative country artist Steve Earle. Early life Earle grew up in South Nashville, Tennessee, with his mother, Carol Ann Hunter Earle. His father, Steve Earle, gave him his middle name in honor of his own mentor, singer and songwriter Townes Van Zandt. When Justin was two, his father left his family, but after Steve Earle became sober in 1994 he returned. Justin dropped out of school, occasionally touring with and working for his father, eventually moving to eastern Tennessee with other songwriters. Baskery
Baskery is a Swedish alternative Americana folk rock band, comprising the three sisters Greta, Stella and Sunniva Bondesson. The band have released four studio albums. History The band formed in 2007 as an offshoot of The Slaptones, who featured their father Janåke Bondesson on drums, released two albums (''Simplify'', 2003, and ''Amplify'', 2004) and toured the United States with The Brian Setzer Orchestra. Blitzen Trapper is a Portland, Oregon-based experimental country music, country/Folk music, folk/Rock and roll, rock band associated with Sub Pop Records, Vagrant Records and Lojinx. Formed in 2000, the band currently operates as a quintet, with Eric Earley (guitar/harmonica/vocals/keyboard), Erik Menteer (guitar/keyboard), Brian Adrian Koch (drums/vocals/harmonica), Michael Van Pelt (bass), and Marty Marquis (guitar/keyboards/vocals/melodica).
