Miss Mongolia
Miss Mongolia ( mn, Мисс Монголиа) is the beauty contest held in Mongolia to select Mongolia's representatives for Miss International. The first Miss Mongolia competition took place in 2001. Miss Mongolia pageant's official organizer is Desoft Media company. This pageant is unrelated to Miss World Mongolia. History The Miss Mongolia Association is the oldest national competition in Mongolia. Its purposes are to promote Mongolian beauty and values, Mongolian young people, particularly young girls with education, communication, and to conduct activities aimed at improving the knowledge of beauty. The Association runs as a non-profit non-governmental organization. The committee has also arranged for the winners to compete at the Miss International and Miss Earth. *Miss Mongolia 2014 is Yu Baljidmaa. A beauty pageant is a competition that has traditionally focused on judging and ranking the physical attributes of the contestants. Pageants have now evolved to include inner beauty, with criteria covering judging of personality, intelligence, talent, character, and charitable involvement, through private interviews with judges and answers to public on-stage questions. The term beauty pageant refers originally to the Big Four international beauty pageants. Pageant titles are subdivided into Miss, Mrs. or Ms., and Teen – to clearly identify the difference between pageant divisions. Hundreds and thousands of beauty contests are held annually, but the Big Four are considered the most prestigious, widely covered and broadcast by media. Miss International 2010
Miss International 2010, the 50th anniversary of the Miss International pageant, was held on November 7, 2010 at the Sichuan Province Gymnasium in Chengdu, China. Miss International 2009, Anagabriela Espinoza of Mexico crowned her successor, Elizabeth Mosquera of Venezuela, at the end of the event. Seventy contestants competed for the title, the highest turnout in the history of Miss International at the time. The contestants arrived in Shanghai on October 20 and 21, traveled to Chengdu on October 22 and returned to Shanghai after the finals. Miss International 2012
Miss International 2012, the 52nd Miss International pageant, was held on October 21, 2012 at Okinawa Prefectural Budokan Arena Building in Okinawa, Japan. Fernanda Cornejo from Ecuador crowned her successor Ikumi Yoshimatsu from Japan at the end of the event. Yoshimatsu was dethroned shortly before the end of her reign, but she was not replaced. She was ordered by The International Culture Association (Miss International organizer) to skip the succession ceremony and “play sick and shut up” out of fear of scandal. Miss International 2013, the 53rd Miss International pageant, was held on December 17, 2013 at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel Hall in Tokyo, Japan. Alejandra Andreu, Miss International 2008, crowned Bea Santiago of the Philippines at the end of the event. This was the second consecutive year Japan hosted the pageant.
