Miss Maine USA
The Miss Maine USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Maine in the Miss USA pageant. The pageant is directed by The Clemente Organization based in Malden, Massachusetts. Maine has placed nine times at Miss USA. In 2006, Katee Stearns made the semi-finals, becoming the fifth woman from Maine and the first since 1977 to make the cut. In 2010, Katie Whittier became the first delegate from Maine to reach the top five, finishing 4th runner up. In 2011, Ashley Marble became Maine's first consecutive placement. Three Miss Maine USAs were former Miss Maine Teen USA titleholders, who competed at Miss Teen USA. One also competed at Miss America. Juliana Morehouse of Portland, Maine, Portland was crowned Miss Maine USA 2023 on November 20, 2022 at Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Portland Marriott at Sable Oaks in Portland. Miss America
Miss America is an annual competition that is open to women from the United States between the ages of 17 and 25. Originating in 1921 as a "bathing beauty revue", the contest is now judged on competitors' talent performances and interviews. As of 2018, there is no longer a swimsuit portion to the contest, or consideration of physical appearance. Miss America travels about 20,000 miles a month, changing her location every 24 to 48 hours, touring the nation and promoting her particular platform of interest. The winner is crowned by the previous year's titleholder. The current Miss America is Grace Stanke of Wisconsin, who was crowned Miss America 2023 on December 15, 2022. Miss USA 2021
Miss USA 2021 was the 70th Miss USA pageant, held on November 29, 2021, at the Paradise Cove Theater of River Spirit Casino Resort in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The competition was hosted by Zuri Hall and Patrick Ta, while Nicole Adamo served as a lounge host. Asya Branch of Mississippi crowned her successor Elle Smith of Kentucky at the end of the event. This was Kentucky's first title in 15 years. Smith is the third consecutive African American to win the title, and the fifth one in six years. Smith went on to represent the United States at the Miss Universe 2021 pageant, placing in the top 10. Miss National Sweetheart is a United States beauty pageant created in 1941 where runners-up from the Miss America state pageants are invited to Hoopeston, Illinois to compete for the title of Miss National Sweetheart, and the name of the title held by the winner of that pageant. Marisa Butler
Marisa Paige Butler (born January 10, 1994) is an American model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned both United States representatives at Miss World, Miss World America 2018 and Miss Earth USA, Miss Earth USA 2021.
