Miss France 2018
Miss France 2018 was the 88th edition of the Miss France pageant, held on 16 December 2017 at the M.A.CH 36 in Châteauroux, Centre-Val de Loire. Miss France 2017 Alicia Aylies of French Guiana crowned her successor Maëva Coucke of Nord-Pas-de-Calais at the end of the event. She represented France at Miss World 2018 and Miss Universe 2019. Results History On 18 May 2017, the Miss France Organization announced that the 2018 pageant would take place at the M.A.CH 36 in Châteauroux, Centre-Val de Loire. It was the first time that the pageant took place in Châteauroux and the fourth time in the Centre-Val de Loire region. The ceremony was broadcast on TF1, and was presented by Jean-Pierre Foucault and the national director Sylvie Tellier. Maëva Coucke
Maëva Coucke (born 28 June 1994) is a French model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss France 2018. She represented France at Miss World 2018, where she placed in the top twelve, and also represented France at Miss Universe 2019, where she placed in the top ten. Coucke is the third Miss France winner from Nord-Pas-de-Calais within the span of four years, following Iris Mittenaere (2016) and Camille Cerf (2015). Early life and education Coucke was born in Fougères in Ille-et-Vilaine, and raised in Ferques in Pas-de-Calais. Kleofina Pnishi, born July 23, 1994, in Gjakova (Kosovo), is a French actress and model, of Kosovar origin. She was elected Miss Provence 2017. Miss Universe 2016
Miss Universe 2016 was the 65th Miss Universe pageant, held at the Mall of Asia Arena, in Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines on January 30, 2017. This is the second time in the history of the competition that the pageant skipped an entire year, following the 2014 pageant which was held in January 2015. At the end of the event, Pia Wurtzbach of the Philippines crowned Iris Mittenaere of France as Miss Universe 2016. This is France's first victory in 63 years, and the second victory of the country in the pageant's history. Contestants from 86 countries and territories competed in this year's pageant. The competition featured Steve Harvey as host, and supermodel Ashley Graham as the backstage host. American entertainers Flo Rida and Boyz II Men performed in this year's pageant. Miss France 2016 was the 86th Miss France pageant, held in Lille on 19 December 2015. Miss France 2015, Camille Cerf crowned her successor Iris Mittenaere at the end of the event. This was the third back-to-back in Miss France history after 1948-1950 and 1989-1990. Mittenaere represented France at Miss Universe 2016, where she was crowned the winner. The theme of the event was "the dream", it was presented by the national director Sylvie Tellier and Jean-Pierre Foucault for the 21st consecutive year. The event was broadcast live by TF1.
