Miss Cameroon or Miss Cameroun is a national Beauty pageant in Cameroon where the winners traditionally go to Miss Universe and Miss World. The current Miss Cameroon 2023 is Ndoun Issie Marie Princesse of Littoral. She represented Cameroon at Miss Universe 2023 pageant in El Salvador and placed Top 20. History The beauty pageant history in Cameroon was held for the first time in 1960 under Ministry of Culture. The Miss Independence pageant happened on 1 January 1960 in Yaounde as Cameroun became an independent republic. Julienne Ayissi Eyenga Fouda is the first beauty queen in Cameroon history. Established in 2002 the COMICA or Committee of Miss Cameroun happened in Yaounde. The pageant aims to be a tourism promotion of the country. The titleholder also becomes an ambassador who represents all women across the country to celebrate once year in her beauty, intelligence and values. A beauty pageant is a competition that has traditionally focused on judging and ranking the physical attributes of the contestants. Big Four International Beauty Pageants
The Big Four or the Big League Pageants refers to the four major international beauty pageants for women – Miss World, Miss Universe, Miss International and Miss Earth. The group was first described by the ''China Daily'' newspaper in 2004 as "the world's four major beauty contests". In April 2008, the ''South China Morning Post'' described them as "four of the world's top beauty pageants"; the same description was also used by South Korea's leading newspaper, ''Chosun Ilbo'' in 2010. Miss Universe 2020
Miss Universe 2020 was the 69th Miss Universe pageant, held at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, United States on May 16, 2021. At the end of the event, Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa crowned Andrea Meza of Mexico as Miss Universe 2020. It is Mexico's first victory in 10 years, and the third victory of the country in the pageant's history. Miss Universe 2021 was the 70th Miss Universe pageant, held at the Universe Dome in Eilat, Israel on December 13, 2021. At the end of the event, Andrea Meza of Mexico crowned Harnaaz Sandhu of India as Miss Universe 2021. It is India's first victory in 21 years, and the third victory of the country in the pageant's history. Southwest Region (Cameroon)
The Southwest Region or South-West Region () is a region in Cameroon. Its capital is Buea. , its population was 1,553,320. Along with the Northwest Region, it is one of the two Anglophone (English-speaking) regions of Cameroon. Various Ambazonian nationalist and separatist factions regard the ''Sud-Ouest'' region as being distinct as a polity from Cameroon. Administration The region is divided into six divisions or departments: Fako, Koupé-Manengouba, Lebialem, Manyu, Meme, and Ndian. These are in turn broken down into subdivisions. Miss International (''Miss International Beauty'' or ''The International Beauty Pageant'') is a Japan-based international beauty pageant organized by the International Culture Association.
