Marian High School (also known as Mishawaka Marian) is a Roman Catholic secondary school in Mishawaka, Indiana, in the United States, operated by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend. Marian was a top 50 school in 2005 noted on the Catholic High School Honor Roll. Marian High School holds a First Class commission from the Indiana State Department of Education and has been accredited by the North Central Association since early 1996. Marian received a letter grade of "A" for the 2013-2014 school year from the state. Mishawaka, Indiana
Mishawaka is a city on the St. Joseph River, in Penn Township, St. Joseph County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. The population was 51,063 as of the 2020 census. Its nickname is "the Princess City". Mishawaka is a principal city of the South Bend–Mishawaka, IN- MI, Metropolitan Statistical Area. History Mishawaka's recorded history began with the discovery of bog iron deposits at the beginning of the 1830s. Settlers arriving to mine the deposits founded the town of St. Joseph Iron Works in 1831. Within a few years, the town had a blast furnace, a general store, a tavern, and about 200 residents. Business prospered, and in 1833 St. Joseph Iron Works, Indiana City, and two other adjacent small towns were incorporated to form the city of Mishawaka. The Illinois State Redbirds football program is the intercollegiate American football team for the Illinois State University located in the U.S. state of Illinois. Robert Otolski (born August 22, 1937) is a former American football coach. He was the 17th head football coach Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois, serving for seven seasons, from 1981 to 1987, and compiling a record of 30–41–3. Playing career Otolski attended Washington High School in South Bend, Indiana. There he was a standout member of the football team playing both offense and defense. He was an instrumental part of the 1953 State Championship team. After he graduated in 1955, he accepted a scholarship to play football at the University of Indianapolis. While there he lettered three times for the Greyhounds, playing offense, defense and special teams. Demetrius Montell Jackson Jr. (born September 7, 1994) is an American professional basketball player who last played for Joventut Badalona of the Spanish Liga ACB. Alexander John Horvath (born December 10, 1998) is an American football fullback who is a free agent. He played college football at Purdue. Early years Zander went to Mishawaka Catholic for elementary and middle school, where he played football and graduated from in 2013. Horvath then also played football at Marian High School in Mishawaka, Indiana.
