Misery (novel)
''Misery'' is an American psychological horror thriller novel written by Stephen King and first published by Viking Press on June 8, 1987. The novel's narrative is based on the relationship of its two main characters – the romance novelist Paul Sheldon and his deranged self-proclaimed number one fan Annie Wilkes. When Paul is seriously injured following a car accident, former nurse Annie brings him to her home, where Paul receives treatment and doses of pain medication. Paul realizes that he is a prisoner and is forced to indulge his captor's whims. The novel's title has two meanings: it is the name carried by the central heroine of Paul's book series, and King described such a state of emotion during the novel's writing. He has stated that Annie is a stand-in for cocaine. King has outlined the creation of ''Misery'' in his memoirs, and mentioned that the image of Annie Wilkes came to him in a dream. King planned the book to be released under the pseudonym Richard Bachman, b ...

Low Budget (album)
''Low Budget'' is the eighteenth studio album by English rock group the Kinks, released in 1979. Following the minor success of their 1978 album ''Misfits'', the band recorded the majority of the album in New York rather than London. Unlike the more nostalgic themes of many Kinks albums prior to ''Low Budget'', many of the album's songs allude to contemporaneous events. Musically, the album is a continuation of the band's "arena rock" phase, resulting in a more rock-based sound and more modern production techniques. Despite being a relative failure in the UK, ''Low Budget'' was a great success for the group in the US both critically and commercially, not only becoming their best-selling non-compilation album but also peaking at number 11 on the American album charts. The lead single, " (Wish I Could Fly Like) Superman", was also a minor hit in the US, reaching number 41. Background After spending the majority of the 1970s focusing on lofty concept albums, such as the two-part '' ...

Underneath (Hanson Album)
''Underneath'' is the third album by American pop rock group Hanson. It was released in 2004 by 3CG Records. It is the band's first release on their own independent record label. The making of the album was the main subject in Hanson's documentary film, '' Strong Enough to Break'', that follows the band during the recording process and the struggles they faced to release it. Worldwide sales To date, the album has sold more than 350,000 copies, 137,000 of which were US sales and around 17,000 of which were sold in the UK, making this their lowest-selling official release. Despite this, the lead single " Penny & Me" achieved some success, reaching number 2 on the Hot 100 Singles Sales chart and number 10 on the UK Top 40. The second single, "Lost Without Each Other", did not chart in most countries, and only reached number 39 on the UK Top 40. Hanson themselves have said that they endured a financial loss in making and releasing the album, to the point where in some places, the al ...

Warning (Green Day Album)
''Warning'' (stylized as ''WARNING:'') is the sixth studio album by American rock band Green Day, released on October 3, 2000, by Reprise Records. Building upon its predecessor ''Nimrod'' (1997), it eschewed the band's trademark sound and incorporated acoustic elements and pop and folk styles. Lyrically, the album contains more optimistic and inspirational themes in comparison to the band's earlier releases. ''Warning'' was also Green Day's first album since '' Kerplunk'' (1991) that was not produced by Rob Cavallo, although he did have a hand in its production and was credited as executive producer. Despite mixed criticism towards the band's stylistic change, the album received mostly positive reviews from critics, who praised vocalist/guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong's songwriting. Although it peaked at number four on the US ''Billboard'' 200, ''Warning'' represented the lowest commercial slump in Green Day's career, being their first album since signing to a major label not to ...

Good Morning Revival
''Good Morning Revival'' is the fourth studio album by American rock band Good Charlotte. The band began working on new material in early 2005, however, drummer Chris Wilson soon left the band and was replaced by Dean Butterworth. The group took a break to focus on their personal lives before reconvening in early 2006, and eventually reconnecting with producer Don Gilmore. He was dismissive of the new material that the band showed him, and on his recommendation Benji and Joel Madden left Los Angeles, California and settled in Vancouver, Canada. After writing a number of new songs there, the brothers felt they were heading in the right direction. Meeting up every two weeks, the band members showed off the songs they were working on; Gilmore was again dismissive, challenging them to write material that was different. Another batch of songs was written before recording began in July 2006 and concluded in September. Featuring heavy use of keyboards, played by guitarist Billy Martin, mos ...

Grey Britain
''Grey Britain'' is the second album by English hardcore punk band Gallows, released 2 May 2009 through Warner Bros. Records. It is their last album to feature lead singer Frank Carter, and their first with guitarist Steph Carter writing and recording. Background information A second album by Gallows was first hinted by vocalist Frank Carter during an interview with ''NME'' in 2007, where he stated that because Gallows was "a hobby I get paid for," the band would likely be defunct by 2010. However, he confirmed that during this period, the band would record up to two additional albums. He later told ''Kerrang!'' that the claims regarding the band's imminent break-up were untrue. In an interview with ''Kerrang!'', it was revealed that Gallows' sophomore effort would feature guest appearances by Biffy Clyro's Simon Neil, and various members of Rolo Tomassi and Cancer Bats. In an interview at Sonisphere 2009, the brother of Frank Carter and vocalist of British hardcore band Black ...

Letting Go (Earshot Album)
''Letting Go'' is alternative metal band Earshot's debut album, released on May 7, 2002. The songs "Get Away" and "Not Afraid" were released as singles during that year with each having their own music video. “Get Away” reached #4 on the U.S. Active Rock Charts and stayed in the top 100 for over 64 weeks. ''Letting Go'' reached #82 on the ''Billboard 200''. Recording Vocalist/guitarist Wil Martin mentioned "we just played around town and recorded demos at like friends houses and studios and we only did that one time with one song which actually spawned all the label interest. And it's obvious recording in someone's basement to a multi million-dollar studio because you need the space and some of the technology to be able to pick up the various things and instruments." Song meanings "A lot of the songs are about relationships or about having a bad day, where nothing seems to go right, or where you just dwell on the negative. But the album as a whole is about getting past all t ...
