Misericordia Sunday
The Third Sunday of Easter is the day that occurs two weeks after the Christian celebration of Easter. Western Christianity In the historical Roman Rite of the Catholic Church, this day was officially known as the Second Sunday after Easter. It was also nicknamed Misericordia Sunday and Good Shepherd Sunday. The "Misericordia Sunday" designation was due to the incipit ("Misericórdia Dómini") of the introit assigned to this day's liturgy. The full text of the introit in its original Latin was: "Misericórdia Dómini plena est terra, allelúia: verbo Dómini caeli firmáti sunt, allelúia, allelúia. Exsultáte, iusti, in Dómino: rectos decet collaudátio." This introit is based on verses 5, 6, and 1 of Psalm 33. This day was called "Good Shepherd Sunday" due to the Gospel reading traditionally assigned to it (). In the 1970 revision of the ''Roman Missal'', this day was designated the "Third Sunday of Easter." The "Misericórdia Dómini" introit for this Sunday was swap ...

Banner Of Misericordia
The banner of Misericordia (Mercy) is a work of the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí projected for the procession to the Sanctuary of Misericordia in Reus of the reusians residing in Barcelona as one of the acts for the 1900 Holy Year. It is known by the two front and back photographs published in the ''Semanario Católico de Reus'' (Reus Catholic Weekly magazine) in July of that year. It included another photograph of the procession in which Gaudí is seen as part of a large group of pilgrims and the banner being carried by one of them. A previous issue of the same publication contains a description with references to the materials with which it was built. The banner remained in the sanctuary until July 1936, when it was destroyed in the events of the Spanish Civil War. Between 2003 and 2007 a project was carried to construct a replica based on the detailed study of the photographs, using the same materials and the same techniques as the original. The replica is currently exhibit ...

Misericordia Et Misera
The Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy ( la, Iubilaeum Extraordinarium Misericordiae) was a Catholic period of prayer held from 8 December 2015, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, to 20 November 2016, the Feast of Christ the King. Like previous jubilees, it was seen by the Church as a period for remission of sins and universal pardon focusing particularly on God's forgiveness and mercy. It was an ''extraordinary'' Jubilee because it had not been predetermined long before; ordinary jubilees are usually celebrated every 25 years. The 2016 Jubilee was first announced by Pope Francis on 13 March 2015. It was declared in the pope's April 2015 papal bull of indiction (formal announcement or proclamation), ' (Latin for "The Face of Mercy"). It is the 27th holy year in history, following the ordinary 2000 Jubilee during John Paul II's papacy. The opening day was also the 50th anniversary of the closing of the Second Vatican Council. Francis wished for the Jubilee to be celebrate ...

Dives In Misericordia
''Dives in misericordia'' (Latin: ''Rich in Mercy'') is the name of the second encyclical written by Pope John Paul II. It is a modern examination of the role of mercy—both God's mercy, and also the need for human mercy—introducing the biblical parable of the Prodigal Son as a central theme. The original text was written in longhand in Polish. The encyclical was promulgated on 30 November 1980. Background John Paul II had a strong love for the Divine Mercy, a devotion revealed by his fellow Pole, Faustina Kowalska (b. 1905 - d.1938), a devotion that he later instituted for the entire Catholic Church in 2000 as Divine Mercy Sunday and during which vigil, in 2005, he died. He told his biographer George Weigel that he felt spiritually "very near" to Kowalska when he began the encyclical. Pope John Paul II's second encyclical continues to examine the world problems brought up in his first encyclical, ''Redemptor hominis'', including rising militarization, tyranny, starvat ...

It is located in the area of the ancient market of Lattarini, in the Quarter (urban subdivision), quarter of the Kalsa, within the historic centre of Palermo.
