Mijo Mirković
Mijo Mirković (; 28 September 1898 – 17 February 1963), also known by his pen names Miho and Mate Balota, was a prominent Croatian poet, novelist and economist. Considered one of the most prominent Croatian poets of the 20th century and often credited as the greatest Istrian poet, he was called "the greatest Istrian after Labin's Matija Vlačić" by Tone Peruško. Mirković was born in Rakalj, southeastern Istria. His family was evacuated to Moravia at the beginning of the Great War. Upon his return to Croatia he worked as a journalist in Pula before moving to Zagreb, where he graduated from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. He later studied economy and social sciences in Berlin and Frankfurt, where he had gone in order to examine the original manuscripts of Matija Vlačić. Dragana Mirković ( sr-cyr, Драгана Мирковић, ; born 18 January 1968) is a Serbian pop-folk singer and entrepreneur. She rose to prominence in the eighties as a member of the popular collective Južni Vetar. Today, Mirković is recognised as one of the best-selling artists from the former Yugoslavia. Alongside her husband, she also founded a satellite music channel called DM SAT. Life and career Early life Mirković was born on 18 January 1968, in Kasidol, a village near Požarevac, SR Serbia, SFR Yugoslavia. Zoran "Bata" Mirković ( sr-cyrl, Зоран Бата Мирковић, ; born 21 September 1971) is a retired Serbian footballer and current manager. Playing career Club career Mirković made his first appearance for FK Rad during the 1990–91 season. But even before that he and his teammates won the Yugoslav title in the under-21 category, the biggest success Rad ever had. Borivoje Mirković
Borivoje Mirković ( sr-Cyrl, Боривоје Мирковић; 23 September 1884 – 21 August 1969) was a brigadier general in the Royal Yugoslav Air Force. Early life Borivoje Mirković was born to Jovan and Smiljana Mirković on 23 September 1884 in Valjevo, Kingdom of Serbia. He entered the Serbian Army in 1907. In 1930, he married a woman named Mira. She died in 1937. World War II Mirković led and organised the Yugoslav coup d'état of 27 March 1941 that deposed the regency of Prince Paul, Dr. Radenko Stanković and Dr. Ivo Perović, as well as the government of Prime Minister Dragiša Cvetković. Sreten Mirković (Serbian Cyrillic: Сретен Мирковић; 15 February 1958 – 28 September 2016) was a Serbian boxer. He had been referred to as a "legend of Serbian boxing." Career In 1979, as a member of the Mladi Radnik Sports Society from Požarevac, Mirković won the silver medal at the European Amateur Boxing Championships. Coaching Mirković was a coach in the Kostolac Boxing Club and was a coach of the Mladi Radnik Boxing Club in Požarevac. Ivan Mirković ( sr-Cyrl, Иван Мирковић; born 25 March 1987) is a former Serbian footballer who played as a midfielder. Career Youth and amateur Mirković played four years of college soccer, two years at Oxnard College and two years at Fresno Pacific University. Milan Mirković (; born 7 April 1985) is a Serbian handball player for Vojvodina. Career After playing for five years with Sintelon (later known as Tarkett), Mirković moved to Slovenia and joined Koper in October 2008. He helped the club win the Slovenian Cup in April 2009. Miško Mirković (Serbian Cyrillic: Мишко Мирковић ; ''Turkish'': Mert Meriç) (born 7 July 1966) is a former Serbian international footballer. He played all position of defensive and midfield position.
