Mirko Ludwig
Mirko Ludwig is a German tenor who is mostly active in concert, especially in historically informed performance. He is a member of the vocal quartet Quartonal. Career Born in Hamburg, Ludwig was from grade three a member of the boys' choir Chorknaben Uetersen. He studied voice at the University of the Arts Bremen with Thomas Mohr and Krisztina Laki, with a focus on historically informed performance. In 2012, Ludwig appeared at the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg with the Franz-Schubert-Chor in a program combining Schubert's Mass No. 2 in G major with Dona nobis pacem by Pēteris Vasks and Martín Palmeri's '' Misa a Buenos Aires'' (or ''Misatango''). He has performed the tenor part in Bach's ''St John Passion'', both Evangelist and arias, for example at St. Nikolai in 2016, conducted by Volkmar Zehner. ''Don Quixote'', Op. 50 is an opera in three acts by Wilhelm Kienzl. The libretto, written by the composer, is based on the novel by Miguel de Cervantes. Composition history Kienzl composed the opera in 1896, completing the full score on 9 October 1897, the 350th birthday of Cervantes (according to the composer's note in the score Cervantes was born on 9 October 1547). Kent George Nagano GOQ, MSM (born November 22, 1951) is an American conductor and opera administrator. Since 2015, he has been Music Director of the Hamburg State Opera and was Music Director of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra from 2006 to 2020. Early life and education Nagano was born in Berkeley, California, while his parents were in graduate school at the University of California, Berkeley. He is a ''sansei'' (third-generation) Japanese-American. He grew up in Morro Bay, a city located on the Central Coast of California in San Luis Obispo County. ''Arlecchino'', ''oder Die Fenster'' (''Harlequin, or The Windows'', is a one-act opera with spoken dialog by Ferruccio Busoni, with a libretto in German, composed in 1913. He completed the music for the opera while living in Zurich in 1916.
