The Ministry of the Union Government Office ( my, ပြည်ထောင်စုအစိုးရအဖွဲ့ရုံး ဝန်ကြီးဌာန, MUGO) was a ministry-level body that served the Union Government of Myanmar between 2017 and 2021. Since August 2021, the ministry has been split into two: the Ministry of the Union Government 1 (MUGO 1), and the Ministry of the Union Government 2 (MUGO 2). History The original MUGO was created in November 2017. Its original charter was to discharge the responsibilities of the office of the President and the Union Government. On 28 December 2018, General Administration Department (GAD) was reorganized and reinvoked under the Ministry of the Office of the Union Government after being detached from the Ministry of Home Affairs. Myanmar ( also known as Burma) operates ''de jure'' as a unitary assembly-independent republic under its 2008 constitution. Myint Swe (general)
Myint Swe ( my, မြင့်ဆွေ, ; born 24 May 1951) is a Burmese politician currently serving as Acting President of Myanmar as well as First Vice President. He previously served as the acting president after the resignation of President Htin Kyaw on 21 March 2018, and the chief minister of Yangon Region from 30 March 2011 to 30 March 2016. On 30 March 2016, he was sworn in as the vice president of Myanmar. He is an ethnic Mon ex-military officer in the Myanmar Army with the rank of a lieutenant general. Tatmadaw (, , ) is the official name of the armed forces of Myanmar (formerly Burma). It is administered by the Ministry of Defence and composed of the Myanmar Army, the Myanmar Navy and the Myanmar Air Force. Auxiliary services include the Myanmar Police Force, the Border Guard Forces, the Myanmar Coast Guard, and the People's Militia Units. Soe Htut ( my, စိုးထွဋ်; born 29 March 1961) is a Burmese military officer and incumbent Minister for Home Affairs of Myanmar. Soe Htut is a career soldier, and currently holds the rank of Lieutenant General. Early life and education Soe Htut was born to an army general, Brigadier General Lun Maung, and his wife Shwe Thet, in Mandalay, Burma (now Myanmar). He graduated from the 64th intake of the Officer Training School, and received a bachelor's degree in physics, and a master's degree in defence studies. Career Soe Htut was nominated as minister for Home Affairs by Myanmar's commander-in-chief, Min Aung Hlaing, and appointed in March 2020, replacing Lieutenant General Kyaw Swe. The Union Solidarity and Development Party ( my, ပြည်ထောင်စုကြံ့ခိုင်ရေးနှင့် ဖွံ့ဖြိုးရေးပါတီ; abbr. USDP) is a political party in Myanmar, registered on 2 June 2010 by the Union Election Commission and currently standing as the largest opposition party in the bicameral Assembly of the Union. Yar Pyae is a Burmese military officer and the Minister for the Union Government Office as of 11 May 2021. He was appointed as the National Security Advisor on 22 May 2021.
