The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship is a Ministry of Government of Maharashtra to coordinate all skill development,Employment and entrepreneurship efforts in Maharashtra. The Ministry is headed by Cabinet Minister Mangal Lodha since 14 August 2022. The Government of Maharashtra is the state governing authority for the state of Maharashtra, India. It is a democratically elected government with 288 MLAs elected to the Vidhan Sabha for a five-year term. Maharashtra has a Maharashtra Legislature which consists of two Houses, the Vidhan Sabha (Legislative Assembly) and the Vidhan Parishad (Legislative Council). As is the case in a parliamentary system, the government is formed by the party, alliance or group of assembly members who command the majority in the Lower House. The Lower House majority leader becomes the Chief Minister and selects the cabinet members from both Houses. Yashwantrao Balwantrao Chavan (Marathi pronunciation: əʃʋənt̪ɾaːʋ t͡səʋʱaːɳ 12 March 1913 – 25 November 1984) was an Indian politician. He served as the last Chief Minister of Bombay State and the first of Maharashtra after latter was created by the division of Bombay state. His last significant ministerial post was as the Deputy Prime Minister of India in the short lived Charan Singh government in 1979. He was a strong Congress leader, co-operative leader, social activist and writer. He was popularly known as ''Leader of Common People''. He advocated social democracy in his speeches and articles and was instrumental in establishing co-operatives in Maharashtra for the betterment of the farmers. Vasantrao Banduji "Vasantdada" Patil (13 November 1917 – 1 March 1989) was an Indian politician from Sangli, Maharashtra. He was known as the first modern Maratha strongman and first mass leader in Maharashtrian politics. Patil served as Chief Minister of Maharashtra from 17 May 1977 to 18 July 1978 and again from 2 February 1983 to 1 June 1985. He also served as the Governor of Rajasthan for a little under two years from 1985 to 1987. Personal life Born on 13 November 1917 at 'Padmale' from Sangli, his native village. Damodar Tatyaba Rupwate (28 February 1925 – 23 July 1999), commonly known as Dadasaheb Rupwate was an Indian politician, Ambedkarite social activist and newspaper editor from Maharashtra. Shankarrao Bhavrao Chavan (14 July 1920 – 26 February 2004) was an Indian politician who served twice as Chief Minister of Maharashtra from 1975 until 1977 and from 13 March 1986 until 26 June 1988. He was Finance Minister of India from 1988 to 1989 and served as Home Minister of India in the P. V. Narasimha Rao cabinet from 21 June 1991 to 16 May 1996. Shankarrao Chavan was appointed as Chief Minister of Maharashtra for the first time on 21 February 1975, replacing Vasantrao Naik. His first ministry lasted till 16 April 1977, and was succeeded by Vasantdada Patil's ministry. Government formation After Congress securing a supermajority in 1972 legislative elections, the incumbent chief minister Vasantrao Naik had continued in his office. Yashwantrao Jijoba Mohite (7 November 1920 – 22 August 2009), aka Bhau, was an Indian politician, a former member of the Lok Sabha from 1980 to 1984 and MLA from Karad, Maharashtra from 1952 to 1980 from Indian National Congress. When he was taking education in Kolhapur, he participated in the Indian freedom struggle. He was also one of founders of Peasants and Workers Party of India in 1947. In 1952, he became MLA from Karad (south) assembly constituency but resigned from the post as a part of agitation for demand of separate Maharashtra state.
