The Ministry of Justice is the justice ministry of the government of Egypt. Its headquarters are in Cairo. Profile On 17 June 2014 Mahfouz Saber was appointed minister of justice. On 20 May 2015 Ahmed El-Zend was appointed as minister of justice and was reappointed on 19 September 2015, but on 14 March 2016, he was removed from his post by Egyptian Prime Minister, Sherif Ismail, for making controversial comments. The coat of arms of Egypt () is known as the Eagle of Saladin, Republican Eagle or Egyptian Golden Eagle, is a heraldic golden eagle, facing the viewer's left (Dexter and sinister, dexter). The eagle's breast is charged with an Escutcheon (heraldry), escutcheon bearing the red-white-black bands of the flag of Egypt rotated vertically, whilst the eagle's talons hold a scroll bearing the official name of the state written in Kufic, Kufic script. Ahmed Mekki (politician)
Ahmed Mekki (born 1941) was the Minister of Justice of Egypt from 2 August 2012 until he submitted his resignation to President Morsi on 20 April 2013. He was a member of the Qandil Cabinet. Mekki was one of the independent ministers in the cabinet. He is the brother of the former vice president Mahmoud Mekki, who resigned from office on 22 December 2012. Early life and education Mekki was born in 1941. He studied law at Alexandria University and graduated in 1961. Career Mekki is the former deputy head of the Court of Cassation, Egypt’s highest appeals court. He was also the chairman of the fact-finding Committee in the Egyptian Judges Club. Mamdouh Marei
Mamdouh Marei (1938–2018) was an Egyptian jurist who served as the minister of justice in the period 2006–2011 just before the Arab Spring. He also served in various senior judicial positions. Biography Marei was born in 1938. He worked as the president of the Appeals Court from 2001 to 2003 and then, as the head of Supreme Constitutional Court between 2003 and 2006. In August 2006 he was appointed justice minister, replacing Mahmoud Abul Leil in the post. Marei was appointed by President Hosni Mubarak to the post to expel those judges who protested the Mubarak's intervention in the legal issues and the results of the presidential election in 2005. Farouk Seif Al Nasr
Farouk Seif Al Nasr (14 December 1922 – 31 December 2009) was an Egyptian politician who served as justice minister in different cabinets during Husni Mobarak's term. Early life and education Nasr was born on 14 December 1922. He received a bachelor's degree in law. Career Nasr was an advisor to the Libyan government. Then he worked as a technical advisor to the Egyptian justice ministry in 1972. He was named as head of the supreme constitutional court in 1982. Adel Younis (died 25 April 1976) was an Egyptian jurist. He headed the parquet in Alexandria and served as the deputy head justice of the Court of Cessation in Cairo. Then he was named as the head of the Supreme Court of Appeal in Cairo. The current political system was established following the 2013 Egyptian military coup d'état, and the takeover of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. Hassan Fahmi al-Badawi (), (7 September 1910 – 9 July 1987) was an Egyptian judge and political figure who was Justice Minister, from 1970–1971. Early life Hassan Fahmi al-Badawi was born in Giza Governorate in Egypt on 7 September 1910. He was enrolled in the al-Saidia school and then attended the Faculty of Law at Cairo University. Sherif Ismail ( ar, شريف إسماعيل ; born 6 July 1955) is an Egyptian engineer who served as prime minister between 2015 and 2018. He was minister of petroleum and mineral resources from 2013 to 2015. Career Ismail studied mechanical engineering at Ain Shams University and graduated in 1978. He has held managerial posts at state-run petrochemical and natural gas firms.
