Council Of Ministers (Bhutan)
The Council of Ministers ( Dzongkha: ལྷན་རྒྱས་གཞུང་ཚོགས་; Wylie: ''lhan-rgyas gzhung-tshogs'') is the highest executive body in Bhutan. It was created in 1999 by Jigme Singye Wangchuck, the fourth King of Bhutan. History of the Lhengye Zhungtshog Until 1999, Bhutan's Cabinet consisted of a council of Ministers chaired by King Jigme Singye Wangchuck. In 1999, as a major step toward democratization, the King dissolved the existing cabinet and withdrew from his role in the decision-making in the cabinet. Six new ministers were nominated, placed before the National Assembly, and voted in as new ministers. The term ''Council of Cabinet Ministers'', or "CCM," was thus born. From this group of six ministers, a chairman was selected. The selection was based on the number of "yes" votes received during the National Assembly vote. Thimphu
Thimphu (; dz, ཐིམ་ཕུག ) is the capital city, capital and largest city of Bhutan. Dechen Wangmo (politician)
''Dasho'' Dechen Wangmo () is a Bhutanese politician who has been Minister for Health since November 2018. She has been a member of the National Assembly of Bhutan, since October 2018. Early life and education Wangmo was born on . She received a Master of Public Health (Global Health Epidemiology) degree from Yale University, United States and Bachelor of Science in Cardiopulmonary Science from the Northeastern University, United States. Professional career Wangmo is served as the director of PIE Solutions. She is the chairwoman and a founding member of Bhutan Cancer Society, a non-profit organization in Bhutan. ''Lyonpo'' Sangay Ngedup (born 1 July 1953) was Prime Minister of Bhutan from 1999 to 2000 and again from 2005 to 2006. Biography Sangay Ngedup was born in Nobgang village in Punakha. He is the second child and eldest son in a family of three brothers and six sisters. Four of his sisters are married to the former King of Bhutan, Jigme Singye Wangchuck.
