The Seat of the Government is located in Gaborone, Botswana. The government is led by the president (currently Mokgweetsi Masisi). Gaborone ( , , ) is the capital and largest city of Botswana with a population of 246,325 based on the 2022 census, about 10% of the total population of Botswana. Benjamin C. Thema (born 1912, died 1982) was a Motswana educationist and politician. Thema was born in Ranaka, Bangwaketse Reserve. 'Ketumile Quett Joni Masire'', GCMG (24 July 1926 – 22 June 2017) was the second and longest-serving President of Botswana, in office from 1980 to 1998. Festus Gontebanye Mogae (born 21 August 1939) is a Botswana politician and economist who served as the third President of Botswana from 1998 to 2008.
