The Ministry of Education, Heritage and Arts is the ministry of Fiji responsible for overseeing Fiji's education system. The current Minister for Education is Aseri Radrodro, who was appointed to the position in December 2022 Responsibilities The Ministry is tasked to conduct and deliver education services to all Fijian students. The Ministry has numerous responsibilities - advising the government, providing administrative and management support, enacting policies and acts, and providing learning resources such as text books. The Ministry is also tasked to make and distribute external exams to schools all over the country. Besides the government providing free education to primary and secondary school students, they also provide free text books and free bus fare initiatives. Coat Of Arms Of Fiji
The coat of arms of Fiji is the heraldic device consisting of a shield divided quarterly by Cross of St. George and charged with a gold lion at the top, supported by two Fijian warriors, one on each side, and topped with a canoe as the crest. Adopted in 1908 by a Royal Warrant, it has been the coat of arms of Fiji since that year, having been retained after independence in 1970. Suva () is the capital and largest city of Fiji. It is the home of the country's largest metropolitan area and serves as its major port. The city is located on the southeast coast of the island of Viti Levu, in Rewa Province, Central Division. Aseri Radrodro
Aseri Masivou Radrodro (born 1972) is a Fijian politician and Cabinet Minister. He is a member of the Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA). Radrodro was born in Serea Village in Naitasiri Province and educated at Soloira District School and Queen Victoria School. He subsequently studied finance at the University of the South Pacific, before gaining a Masters in Business Administration in 2006. He has worked as a public servant, manager, and for the Fiji Sports Council, holding various managerial positions. He has also served on various Boards including the Fiji Electricity Authority (FEA), Fijian Holdings, Fiji TV, Merchant Finance and FHLS. He joined SODELPA in 2014 and was elected to the Parliament of Fiji at the 2014 elections, gaining 2169 votes. Ifereimi Vasu
Ifereimi Vasu (born ~1960) is a Fijian politician and Cabinet Minister. He is a member of the Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA). Vasu previously served in the Republic of Fiji Military Forces, reaching the rank of lieutenant colonel. He did not participate in the 1987, 2000, or 2006 coups, being in training or overseas at the time. Following the 2006 Fijian coup d'état he was appointed as commissioner for the Eastern District by the Bainamarama regime. In 2011 he was appointed Corrections Service Commissioner. As corrections commissioner he oversaw the imprisonment of former prime minister Laisenia Qarase. In December 2015 he was fired as corrections commissioner and charged with abuse of office following an investigation by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption.
