The Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan Republic ( az, Azərbaycan Respublikasının Mədəniyyət Nazirliyi) is a governmental agency within the Cabinet of Azerbaijan in charge of regulation of the activities and promotion of Culture of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani culture. The ministry is headed by Anar Karimov. General information The ministry which is located in the capital of the country- Baku is funded mainly from the state budget. The Statute of the Ministry approved by the President determines the main directions, tasks, rights and organization of activity of this state body. Ganja State Philharmonic Hall () is a concert hall in Ganja, Azerbaijan. Ganja State Philharmonic is named after the composer Fikret Amirov who was born in Ganja in 1922 and directed the Philharmonic for a while (1942-1943). Formation Ganja Philharmonic was founded in April 1919 on the initiative of well-known Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibeyov after his visit to Ganja in March 1919.Fikret Amirov became the new director of the Philharmonic after he returned from Great Patriotic War in 1942. “Gaya“ ( az, Qaya) were an Azerbaijani vocal quartet consisting of Arif Hajiyev, Teymur Mirzoyev, Lev Yelisovetski and Rauf Babayev. Quartet was active from 1972 to 1988. They sang in multiple languages, including Azerbaijani, Spanish, Polish, Ukrainian, Russian and English in their repertoire. Gaya was formed in 1961, when Rauf Hajiyev invited musicians to work in Azerbaijan State Estrada Orchestra. The Azerbaijan State Song Theatre named after Rashid Behbudov ( az, Rəşid Behbudov adına Dövlət Mahnı Teatrı) is located in Azerbaijan's capital, Baku, on Rashid Behbudov Street, and is named after Rashid Behbudov, who founded it in 1968. The theatre building was originally built as a synagogue in 1901. International Mugham Center Of Azerbaijan
The International Mugham Center of Azerbaijan is a center of Azerbaijani arts and music aiming to promote, preserve and popularize the mugham genre of Azerbaijani music. It is located in Baku Boulevard, in downtown Baku. Overview of the center The Mugham Center was built on initiative of the First Lady of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva. Baku State Circus ( az, Bakı Dövlət Sirki) is the main arena circus of Baku, capital of Azerbaijan. History In the 1890s, Nikitin's brothers opened a first circus-zoo in Baku. In 1904, they built the first Circus-building in the East on the intersection of Nizami street and Bul-Bul Avenue - in the place of the present Nasimi garden. But it burned in 1906. In 1916, Yefimovs built another circus building in the place of the destroyed circus-building of Nikitin's brothers. Azerbaijan State Chamber Orchestra named after Gara Garayev () is a chamber orchestra based in Baku, Azerbaijan. It was founded by Fikrat Amirov and Gara Garayev in 1964. The orchestra generally performs works of Azerbaijani composers and premiered works by Western European and Russian composers. Nazim Rzayev directed the Orchestra until 1992 since its foundation. Azerbaijan State Song And Dance Ensemble
The Azerbaijan State Song and Dance Ensemble was created in 1938 by Uzeyir Hajibeyov, the founder of classic Azerbaijani music. Composers such as Said Rustamov, Jahangir Jahangirov, Vasif Adigozalov, Haji Khanmammadov, Telman Hajiyev and Ramiz Mirishli managed the ensemble along with Hajibeyov at various times. Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra
The Hajibeyov Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra (Azeri: ''Hacıbəyov adına Azərbaycan Dövlət Simfonik Orkestri'') was formed in 1920 being one of the first orchestras in the Soviet Union, at the request of composer Uzeyir Hajibeyov after whom it was later named. It is affiliated with the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Society. Composers such as Rhené-Baton and Otto Klemperer were invited from abroad to assist in establishing and training the orchestra body.
