The Minister responsible for La Francophonie is a member of the Canadian Cabinet who handles relations with the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie, an international community of francophone nations considered the French equivalent of the Commonwealth of Nations. Monique Vézina, (born July 13, 1935) is a former Canadian politician. She now works with a Non-governmental organization in the field of international development. Vézina was born in Rimouski, Quebec.
