Minister For Fisheries (Western Australia)
Minister for Fisheries is a position in the government of Western Australia, currently held by Peter Tinley of the Labor Party. The position was first created after the 1947 state election, in the new ministry formed by Ross McLarty. It has existed in every government since then, sometimes under different titles. The minister is currently responsible for the state government's Fisheries within the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development. It is responsible for commercial and recreational fishing in Western Australia. The Government of Western Australia, formally referred to as His Majesty's Government of Western Australia, is the Australian state democratic administrative authority of Western Australia. It is also commonly referred to as the WA Government or the Western Australian Government. Ray O'Connor
Raymond James O'Connor (6 March 1926 – 25 February 2013) was an Australian politician who served as the premier of Western Australia from 25 January 1982 to 25 February 1983. He was a member of parliament from 1959 to 1984, and a minister in the governments of David Brand and Charles Court. A controversial figure, he served six months jail in 1994 for stealing a $25,000 cheque from the Bond Corporation. Early life O'Connor was born on 6 March 1926 in Perth, Western Australia, to Alphonsus Maurice O’Connor, a police officer, and Annie Moran. Dave Kelly (politician)
David Joseph Kelly (born 1 July 1962) is an Australian politician who has been a member of the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia since 2013, representing the seat of Bassendean. In the McGowan Ministry, he is Minister for Water, Minister for Fisheries, Minister for Forestry, Minister for Innovation and ICT, and Minister for Science. Early life Kelly was born in Perth, and graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Joe Francis (politician)
Joseph Michael Francis (born 11 December 1970) is a former Australian politician who was a Liberal Party member of the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia from 2008 to 2017, representing the seat of Jandakot. He was a minister in the Barnett government from March 2013 to March 2017, and was considered a front runner for the Liberal Party leadership until he lost his seat at the 2017 state election. Kenneth Charles Baston (born 29 June 1949) is an Australian politician who is a former Liberal Party member of the Western Australian Legislative Council representing the Mining and Pastoral Region. Troy Buswell
Troy Raymond Buswell (born 19 March 1966) is a former Australian politician who was a Liberal member of the Western Australian Legislative Assembly from 2005 to 2014, representing the seat of Vasse. He was Treasurer of Western Australia in the Barnett Ministry from 2008 to 2010 and from 2012 to 2014, and also held several other portfolios. Norman Moore (politician)
Norman Frederick Moore (born 24 August 1945) is a former Western Australian politician. From 2008 to 2013 he was Minister for Mines and Petroleum; Fisheries; Electoral Affairs and Leader of the Government in the Legislative Council. From 12 to 29 June 2012, he was the Minister for Justice. He held a seat for the Electoral region of Mining and Pastoral and is a member of the Liberal Party. Gordon Leslie Hill (born 16 May 1951) is a former Australian politician who was a Labor Party member of the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia from 1982 to 1994.
