Mine District, Yamaguchi
was a district located in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. On March 20, 2008, the day before its dissolution, the district consisted solely of the towns of Mitō (美東町) and Shūhō (秋芳町). History * April 1, 1889 - Due to the municipal status enforcement, the villages of Akagō, Akiyoshi, Ayagi, Beppu, Higashiatsu, Isa, Iwanaga, Kyōwa, Managata, Nishiatsu, Ōda, Ofuku and, Ōmine, were formed. Managata, Yamaguchi
was a village in Mine District, Yamaguchi Prefecture. The village merged with three towns and villages in 1954 and the village dissolved. Currently the village is part of the city of Mine. History The city was founded on March 31, 1954 by a merger of municipalities that departed from Mine District (''Mine-gun''). On March 21, 2008, Mine absorbed the rest of Mine District, which consisted of towns Mitō and Shūhō, while the newly merged city retained the name, Mine.
