Mindreaders
''Mindreaders'' is an American game show produced by Goodson-Todman Productions (now part of Fremantle (company), Fremantle) which aired on NBC from August 13, 1979 through January 11, 1980. Although NBC originally agreed to a 26-week run, the network canceled ''Mindreaders'' after 22 weeks. The host was Dick Martin (comedian), Dick Martin and the announcer was Johnny Olson, with Jack Narz subbing. The program was taped at Studio 4 at NBC in Burbank, California. ''Mindreaders'' was also the final new Goodson-Todman Productions, Goodson-Todman game to be developed under the supervision of co-producer Bill Todman, who died a few weeks before its premiere. Gameplay Two teams of four members competed, each consisting of three contestants and a celebrity captain; one team consisted only of men, the other only of women. Mark Leo Goodson (January 14, 1915 – December 18, 1992) was an American television producer who specialized in game shows, most frequently with his business partner Bill Todman, with whom he created Goodson-Todman Productions. The Burbank Studios (formerly known as NBC Studios) is a television production facility located in Burbank, California. The studio is home to '' Days of Our Lives'', ''Extra'', the '' IHeartRadio Theater'', and was formerly home to the Blizzard Arena (home of the Overwatch League). Celebrity Charades
''Celebrity Charades'' is a series which originally aired from January to September, 1979 as a syndicated series throughout the United States. Original version The original version was hosted by Jay Johnson, along with his dummy Squeaky, and Dick Patterson was the announcer. The series was modeled after the 1962-1964 TV show ''Stump The Stars'', which itself is a successor of the long-running ''Pantomime Quiz'' of the 1950s. Much like the earlier versions, the show consisted of two teams of four celebrities attempting to act out comedic phrases, each within 75 seconds instead of two minutes like in prior versions. The team who guessed all their phrases in the least amount of time won $500 for their favorite charity. In the event of a tie, teams got only $250 each towards their charity. Dick Martin (comedian)
Thomas Richard Martin (January 30, 1922 – May 24, 2008), known professionally as Dick Martin, was an American comedian and director. He was known for his role as the co-host of the sketch comedy program ''Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In'' from 1968 to 1973. Early life and career Martin was born in Battle Creek, Michigan, to William, a salesman, and Ethel Martin, a homemaker. In the early 1930s, the family moved to Detroit, where his teenage years included a bout with tuberculosis, which kept him out of the military. Early in his career, Martin was a staff writer for ''Duffy's Tavern'', a radio situation comedy. Ira Skutch (September 12, 1921 – March 16, 2010) was an American television director, producer, and, in his later years, an author. In the early days of television he produced and directed episodes of ''Kraft Television Theatre'' and '' The Philco Television Playhouse''. Johnny Olson
John Leonard Olson (May 22, 1910 – October 12, 1985) was an American radio personality and television announcer. Olson is perhaps best known for his work as an announcer for game shows, particularly the work he did for Mark Goodson-Bill Todman Productions. Olson was the longtime announcer for the original '' To Tell the Truth'' and ''What's My Line?'', and spent over a decade as the announcer for both ''Match Game'' and ''The Price Is Right'', working on the latter series at the time of his death. Lost television broadcasts are mostly those early television programs which cannot be accounted for in studio archives (or in personal archives) usually because of deliberate destruction or neglect.
