Mind Reader (Silverchair Song)
"Mind Reader" is a song by Australian alternative rock band, Silverchair, from their fifth studio album, ''Young Modern''. The song was sent to Australian radio stations in January 2008 and released as the fourth and final single from the album. The song was co-written by the group's lead singer-guitarist, Daniel Johns, with Julian Hamilton of The Presets, Note: User may have to click 'Search again' and provide details at 'Enter a title:' e.g Mind Reader; &/or at 'Performer:' Silverchair who is responsible for the "don't know what you want" chorus. The single was released on 23 February 2008, as a digital download. It was the last Silverchair single – the group have been on an "indefinite hiatus" from May 2011. Silverchair were an Australian Rock music, rock band, which formed in 1992 as Innocent Criminals in Newcastle, New South Wales, with Ben Gillies on drums, Daniel Johns on vocals and guitars, and Chris Joannou on bass guitar. The group got their big break in mid-1994 when they won a national demo competition conducted by SBS (Australian TV channel), SBS TV show ''Nomad'' and ABC radio station Triple J. Across The Great Divide Tour
The Across the Great Divide tour was a concert tour by Australian alternative rock bands Powderfinger and Silverchair in 2007. The tour featured concerts in 26 towns across Australia and multiple shows in New Zealand. According to Powderfinger frontman Bernard Fanning, the aim of the tour was to "show hatboth bands are behind the idea of reconciliation". Both bands aimed to increase awareness of the efforts of Reconciliation Australia to reduce the current 17-year gap in life expectancy between the average Australian life and that of Indigenous Australians. A triple DVD set was released with the same title as the tour on 1 December 2007 with the Melbourne performances for both bands and backstage occurrences from the tour.
