Minamimorokata District, Kagoshima
was a districts of Japan, district of Japan located in Kagoshima Prefecture. In 1883, when Miyazaki Prefecture was split from Kagoshima Prefecture, the district was formed when Morokata District, Hyuga, Morokata District was split between two prefectures. The area in Miyazaki Prefecture became Kitamorokata District, Miyazaki, Kitamorokata District, and the area in Kagoshima Prefecture became Minamimorokata. The district was originally part of Hyuga Province. Their language is mostly related to the Morokata dialect and their Accent (sociolinguistics), accent is the United accent which is spoken in Miyakonojō, Miyazaki, city of Miyakonojō. Soo, Kagoshima
is a city located in northeastern Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. It is near Miyakonojō, Miyazaki. As of April 2017, the city has an estimated population of 37,038 and a population density of 95 persons per km². This is down from the 2006 population data, which was an estimated population of 43,752 and a population density of 112 persons per km². The total area is 390.39 km². Shibushi, Kagoshima
is a city located in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. As of October 31, 2021, the city has an estimated population of 30,231, with 15,366 households and a population density of 104 persons per km2. The total area is 290.28 km2. The modern city of Shibushi was established on January 1, 2006, from the merger of the former town of Shibushi, absorbing the towns of Ariake and Matsuyama (all from Soo District). Ōsumi Province
was an old province of Japan in the area that is today the eastern part of Kagoshima Prefecture. It was sometimes called . Ōsumi bordered on Hyūga and Satsuma Provinces. Osumi's ancient capital was near modern Kokubu. During the Sengoku and Edo periods, Ōsumi was controlled by the Shimazu clan of neighboring Satsuma and did not develop a major administrative center. The Ōsumi region has developed its own distinct local dialect. Although Ōsumi is part of Kagoshima Prefecture today, this dialect is different from that spoken in the city of Kagoshima. is a district located in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. As of October 1, 2008, the district has an estimated population of 14,713 and a density of 146 persons/km2. The total area is 100.82 km2.
