Minami-Miyazaki Station
is a railway station in Miyazaki City, Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan. It is operated by of JR Kyushu and is the junction between the Nippō Main Line to in the southwest and the Nichinan Line to in the south of Kyushu. Lines The station is served by the Nippō Main Line and is located 342.5 km from the starting point of the line at . The station is also the northern terminus of the Nichinan Line. Layout The station consists of two island platforms serving four tracks at grade. The station building is a modern two-storey concrete structure. The ticket window, passenger waiting area and ticket gates are located on level 2 which connects to a bridge which provides access to the two island platforms. There is a cafe and convenience store in the station building and parking is available at the station forecourt. Nippō Main Line
The is a railway line in Kyushu, in southern Japan, operated by Kyushu Railway Company (JR Kyushu). The line connects Kokura Station in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, and Kagoshima Station in Kagoshima via the east coast of Kyushu, passing through the prefectural capitals of Ōita and Miyazaki. Nichinan Line
The is a railway line in south-eastern Kyushu, Japan, operated by Kyushu Railway Company (JR Kyushu). It connects Minami-Miyazaki Station in Miyazaki, Miyazaki to Shibushi Station in Shibushi, Kagoshima. History The Miyazaki Prefectural Government opened the first section of the line from Obi - Aburatsu in 1913, the same year that the Miyazaki Light Railway was opened from the port of Miyazaki to Uchiumi. The lines were linked in 1932, and nationalised in 1935. The extension to Kitago opened in 1941, and to Shibushi (as a passenger only section) in 1963. Steam locomotives were withdrawn from the line in 1973. Freight services to Kitago ceased in 1982, and in 1990 the Shibushi station was relocated 100m closer to Miyazaki. Miyazaki, Miyazaki
is the capital city of Miyazaki Prefecture on the island of Kyushu in Japan. The city was founded on April 1, 1924.
