Maidstone is a town in northwest Saskatchewan, Canada located 57 km (35 miles) east of Lloydminster and 84 km (52 miles) west of North Battleford at the junction of Highway 16 and Highway 21. The community was named after Maidstone, Kent, England. The Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan is the legislative chamber of the Saskatchewan Legislature in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. Bills passed by the assembly are given royal assent by the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, in the name of the King in Right of Saskatchewan. The assembly meets at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building in Regina. There are 61 constituencies in the province, which elect members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to the Legislative Assembly. All are single-member districts, though the cities of Regina, Saskatoon and Moose Jaw were in the past represented through multi-member districts, with members elected through Block Voting. Lloydminster is a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, Canada. The district was originally created for the 1908 election. The constituency was reconstituted by the ''Representation Act, 1994'' (Saskatchewan), mostly out of the former district of Cut Knife-Lloydminster and parts of Meadow Lake, Turtleford and Redberry. The riding was last contested in the 2020 general election, when it returned Saskatchewan Party MLA Colleen Young. Violet Stanger
Violet Laverne Stanger (1940 – February 6, 2023) was a Canadian politician, who sat in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan from 1991 to 1999. A member of the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party caucus, she represented the electoral district Cut Knife-Lloydminster from 1991 to 1995, and Lloydminster from 1995 to 1999. Tim McMillan
Tim McMillan was a Canadian politician. He was elected to represent the electoral district of Lloydminster in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan in the 2007 election and the 2011 election. He was a member of the Saskatchewan Party. In the fall 2009 legislative session, McMillan introduced a private members bill to protect the wild ponies of the Bronson Forest, which is in his constituency. The bill was called Bill No. 606, ''The Protection of the Wild Ponies of the Bronson Forest Act, 2009'' (Saskatchewan). It received royal assent on December 3, 2009.
