Milton Acorn
Milton James Rhode Acorn (March 30, 1923 – August 20, 1986), nicknamed ''The People's Poet'' by his peers, was a Canadian poet, writer, and playwright. Early life He was born in Prince Edward Island, and grew up in Charlottetown. He joined the armed forces during World War II at the age of eighteen. Career During World War II, on a trans-Atlantic crossing, Acorn suffered a wound from depth charges. The wound was severe enough for him to receive a disability pension from Veterans Affairs for most of his life. He returned to Prince Edward Island and moved to Montreal, Quebec in 1956 and was for a time a member of the Labor-Progressive Party. He spent several years living at the Hotel Waverly in Toronto, Ontario. In Montreal, he published some of his early poems in the political magazine, ''New Frontiers''. Milton Brown (politician)
Milton Brown (February 28, 1804 – May 15, 1883) was a U.S. Representative from Tennessee. Biography Brown was born in Lebanon, Ohio. After growing up, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee. He married Sarah F. Jackson on January 21, 1835, and they had seven children, four boys and three girls. Career Brown studied law and was admitted to the Tennessee bar and began his practice in Paris, Tennessee, but later, he moved south to Jackson, Tennessee. In 1835 Brown became a judge of the chancery court of west Tennessee and held this position until he was elected as a Whig to the Twenty-seventh Congress, representing the twelfth district. He served in that Capacity from March 4, 1841 to March 3, 1843. Reelected to the two succeeding Congresses representing the eleventh district, he served from March 4, 1843 to March 4, 1847. Milton Doyle (born October 31, 1993) is an American professional basketball player for the Tasmania JackJumpers of the National Basketball League (NBL). He played college basketball for the Loyola Ramblers. College career A graduate of Chicago's Marshall High School, Doyle transferred to Loyola (Illinois) from the University of Kansas. He became the first player in the Loyola Ramblers' history to be named to the All-MVC First Team and was also named as NABC First Team All-District 16 during his senior year. Milton Diamond (born March 6, 1934) is an American Professor Emeritus of anatomy and reproductive biology at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. After a career in the study of human sexuality, Diamond retired from the university in December 2009 but continued with his research and writing until retiring fully in 2018. Early career Milton Diamond graduated from the City College of New York with a BS in biophysics in 1955, after which he spent three years in the Army as an engineering officer, stationed in Japan. On returning to the United States, he attended graduate school at University of Kansas from 1958–1962 and earned a PhD in anatomy and psychology from that University. Milton John Cross (April 16, 1897 – January 3, 1975) was an American radio announcer famous for his work on the NBC and American Broadcasting Company, ABC radio networks. He was best known as the voice of the Metropolitan Opera, hosting its Metropolitan Opera radio broadcasts, Saturday afternoon radio broadcasts for 43 years, from the time of their inception on December 25, 1931, until his death in 1975. Milton Pitts Crenchaw (January 13, 1919 – November 17, 2015) was an American aviator who served with the Tuskegee Airmen during World War II and was the first Arkansan to be trained by the federal government as a civilian licensed pilot. He served during World War II as a civilian flight instructor. He was one of the two original supervising squadron members. In 1998 he was inducted into the Arkansas Aviation Hall of Fame. The grandson of a slave, he was known as the "father of black aviation in Arkansas" who broke through color barriers in the military. Early life Crenchaw was born to Reverend Joseph C.
