Millie Gibson
Amelia Eve Gibson (born 19 June 2004) is an English actress. She is known for her roles as Indira in the CBBC series '' Jamie Johnson'' (2017–2018) and Kelly Neelan in the ITV soap opera ''Coronation Street'' (2019–2022). For her portrayal of Kelly, Gibson won the British Soap Award for Best Young Performer in 2022. In November 2022, it was announced Gibson would join the cast of ''Doctor Who'' as new companion Ruby Sunday. Early life Gibson was born on 19 June 2004 in Greater Manchester. She developed a scar on her left eyebrow from falling down a set of stairs as a baby. From the Tameside village of Broadbottom, she attended the Blue Coat School in Oldham. Oldham Theatre Workshop
The Oldham Theatre and Music Workshop is a youth theatre group based in the north west of England. Outline Founded by David Johnson in , the Oldham Theatre Workshop has a purpose-built studio located in its own building off Oldham's Union Street, in company with a gallery, a museum and a library. Greg Milburn (born 21 August 1979), better known as "Greg Wood", is a British actor from Manchester, England, known for playing Trevor Royle in Channel 4 soap ''Hollyoaks'', Rick Neelan in ITV soap ''Coronation Street'' and Terry Gibson in Channel 4 soap ''Brookside (television programme), Brookside''. Transgender
A transgender (often abbreviated as trans) person is someone whose gender identity or gender expression does not correspond with their sex assigned at birth. Many transgender people experience dysphoria, which they seek to alleviate through transitioning, often adopting a different name and set of pronouns in the process. Additionally, they may undergo sex reassignment therapies such as hormone therapy and sex reassignment surgery to more closely align their primary and secondary sex characteristics with their gender identity. ''Butterfly'' is a three-part British television drama series that premiered on 14 October 2018. Made for ITV by Red Production Company, the series focuses on the family of an 11-year-old child Maxine (Callum Booth-Ford) who begins to realise that she is a transgender girl. Anna Friel and Emmett J. Scanlan play her parents, Vicky and Stephen, who reluctantly begin to accept Maxine's need to transition from male to female. The programme was also broadcast in France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Sweden, and made available on the American subscription service Hulu. The series was created by Tony Marchant, who met transgender people and their families during the writing process through trans charity Mermaids. Critical reception was very positive, with reviewers praising the actors and scenes that they found particularly emotive.
