River Rea, Shropshire
The River Rea is a small river that flows through south east Shropshire, England. Course It passes just to the east of the small market town of Cleobury Mortimer and just south of the Hamlet (place) of Neen Savage, before entering the Teme at Newnham Bridge in Worcestershire. Its waters eventually reach the Bristol Channel, via the Severn. The upper stretch of the river is known as the Rea Brook (not to be confused with the Rea Brook which flows from Marton Pool to the River Severn in Shrewsbury). For a short stretch between Cleobury Mortimer and Neen Sollars the river forms part of the Shropshire-Worcestershire border. It is crossed (at ) by the Elan aqueduct. Etymology The name of the river derives from a root found in many Indo-European languages and means "to run" or "to flow". Mill Brook is a stream in the White Mountains of New Hampshire in the United States. It is a tributary of the southern Swift River, part of the Bearcamp River / Ossipee Lake / Saco River watershed leading to the Atlantic Ocean. Mill Brook rises on the southern slopes of Mount Whiteface in the town of Sandwich and flows southeast into Tamworth. The brook reaches the Swift River just east of the village of Whittier. First River
The First River, in the state of New Jersey in the United States, is a subterranean river and the first main tributary of the Passaic River encountered while travelling upstream from its mouth at Newark Bay. Beginning at the confluence of Mill Brook and Branch Brook (near the present Skating Center in Branch Brook Park), the First River flowed parallel to Seventh Avenue and Clay Street, discharging into the Passaic River in the vicinity of the Clay Street bridge. The First River was also known as Mill Brook, having supported several mills, including grist mills for the earliest settlers of Newark in the 17th century. From 1863 to 1890 the brook was culvertised and now flows underground through two culverts, each high by wide until discharging into the Passaic. The brook once flowed through, and now flows under, what is now Branch Brook Park in the city of Newark. Westford is a town in Chittenden County, Vermont, United States. The population was 2,062 at the 2020 census. History The area that is today described as Westford, Vermont originally fell within the traditional territories of the Sokoki, Missisquoi, and Cowasuck bands of the Western Abenaki tribes. Newly introduced infectious diseases and attacks by English settlers greatly impacted native populations and prompted their emigration to Quebec by the 1670s, opening the land for settlement by European immigrants. The original charter for the Town of Westford was granted at a cost of by New Hampshire's provisional governor Benning Wentworth on 8 June 1763 as part of a series of what came to be known as New Hampshire Grants.
