The Military Police of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan ( az, Azərbaycan Respublikası Müdafiə Nazirliyi.Hərbi Polis) is the military police branch of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Overview It was established on 10 April 1992 by the order of the Minister of Defense. Action during the Karabakh conflict The military police personnel took an active part during Operation Iron Fist in 2020. Military police were involved in ensuring security in human settlements and places of deployment in the liberated territories. They also served at mobile checkpoints on military transport movement routes. Cargo of the Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh were escorted by the military police through the Barda-Agdam-Khankendi route. Armed Forces Of Azerbaijan
The Azerbaijani Armed Forces ( az, Azərbaycan Silahlı Qüvvələri) were re-established according to the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the Armed Forces from 9 October 1991. The Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR) had originally formed its own armed forces from 26 June 1918 but were dissolved after Azerbaijan was absorbed into the Soviet Union as the Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic from 28 April 1920. After the Soviet Union dissolved in 1991–92, the armed forces were reformed based on Soviet bases and equipment left on Azerbaijani soil. The armed forces have three branches: the Azerbaijani Land Forces, the Azerbaijani Air and Air Defence Force, and the Azerbaijani Navy. The 032 Separate Commandant's Battalion named after Colonel General Jamsrangijn Jondon, known simply as the 032 Military Unit () is a military unit of the Armed Forces of Mongolia. The unit takes part in the peacetime protection of the capital, with its main task being of law enforcement and to continuously organize daily activities, military supplies and services. It was formed in 1924 after the Mongolian People's Republic was established three years earlier. It was named the Ulaanbaatar City Commandant. Russian Peacekeepers In Nagorno-Karabakh
Peacekeeping mission in Nagorno-Karabakh refers to the ongoing peacekeeping operations by Russia in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, in the aftermath of the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war. The operation is intended to monitor the ceasefire between the Armenian and Azerbaijani forces. Operation Iron Fist (2020)
The Second Nagorno-Karabakh War was an armed conflict in 2020 that took place in the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding territories. It was a major escalation of an unresolved conflict over the region, involving Azerbaijan, Armenia and the self-declared Armenian breakaway state of Artsakh. The war lasted for more than a month and resulted in Azerbaijani victory, with Armenia ceding the territories it had occupied in 1994 surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh.
