Milford Wind
The Milford Wind Corridor Project, also called Milford Wind, is a 306 megawatt (MW) wind farm spanning Beaver and Millard County north of Milford, Utah. It became the state's largest wind facility when the first phase was completed in 2009. The electricity is being sold to the Southern California Public Power Authority. Project details The project was developed and financed in two phases by First Wind. Construction began in November 2008. The first phase had a posted capacity of 204 MW with 97 wind turbines, including 58  Clipper Liberty 2.5-MW wind turbines and 39 GE Energy 1.5-MW turbines. It went online in November 2009 and supported more than 300 development and construction jobs. Beaver County, Utah
Beaver County is a county in west central Utah, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population was 6,629. Its county seat and largest city is Beaver. The county was named for the abundance of beaver in the area. History Explorers of European descent first visited present-day Beaver County in 1776 Domínguez-Escalante Expedition. The proposed territory of Deseret (soon changed to Utah Territory) began with the arrival of Mormon pioneers in 1847. After the immediate Great Salt Lake City area was settled, settlers moved into more outlying areas, including the future Beaver County area. Wind power in Utah is in the early stages of development. As of 2016 the state had 391 MW of wind generation capacity, responsible for 2.6% of in-state electricity generation. Escalante Solar Project
The Escalante Solar Project is a 240  MWAC (315  MWp) photovoltaic power station located about 5 miles north of the town of Milford in Beaver County, Utah. The project was developed by SunEdison, built by Mortenson Construction, and commissioned in September 2016. The power is being sold under three separate 20-year power purchase agreements to Rocky Mountain Power which serves customers in Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming. Delta, Utah
Delta is the largest city in Millard County, Utah, United States. It is located in the northeastern area of Millard County along the Sevier River and is surrounded by farmland. The population was 3,436 at the 2010 census. History Delta was originally a railroad switch called Aiken. In 1905 Aiken was renamed Melville when Millard County began plans to set up irrigation and a dam. People purchased land for 50 cents an acre as long as they agreed to develop a 40-acre lot.
