Miles M.13 Hobby
The Miles M.13 Hobby was a small low-winged monoplane built for racing and research in the United Kingdom just before World War II. A single engined single seater, it ended its days in the wind tunnel at the Royal Aircraft Establishment, R.A.E. Design and development The Hobby, named like many other aircraft designed by Frederick George Miles, F. G. Miles after a bird of prey, was a small low winged cantilever monoplane powered by an inverted, inline 145 hp (108 kW) de Havilland Gipsy Major, de Havilland Gipsy Major 2 engine driving a two-blade variable-pitch propeller. It was intended both as a racer and as an aerodynamic research aircraft. It was a wooden aircraft with spruce frames for both fuselage and flying surfaces with a birch plywood skin and a final cover of doped fabric. A WikiProject, or Wikiproject, is a Wikimedia movement affinity group for contributors with shared goals. WikiProjects are prevalent within the largest wiki, Wikipedia, and exist to varying degrees within sister projects such as Wiktionary, Wikiquote, Wikidata, and Wikisource. They also exist in different languages, and translation of articles is a form of their collaboration. During the COVID-19 pandemic, CBS News noted the role of Wikipedia's WikiProject Medicine in maintaining the accuracy of articles related to the disease. Another WikiProject that has drawn attention is WikiProject Women Scientists, which was profiled by '' Smithsonian'' for its efforts to improve coverage of women scientists which the profile noted had "helped increase the number of female scientists on Wikipedia from around 1,600 to over 5,000".
