Miles Airport or Aerodrome is an airport serving the small towns of Miles and Condamine, and surrounding rural residents in Queensland, Australia. The airport is located along the Leichhardt Highway approximately south of the Leichhardt and Warrego Highway intersection, Miles, Queensland, and north of the Leichhardt Highway and Roma-Condamine Road intersection, Condamine, Queensland. Miles is a rural town and locality in the Western Downs Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , the locality of Miles had a population of 1,746 people. Geography The town is on the Warrego Highway, west of Brisbane, the state capital, 211 kilometres (131 mi) west of Toowoomba, 127 kilometres (79 mi) west of Dalby and 48 kilometres (29 mi) west of Chinchilla. It is situated east of Roma, 221 kilometres (137 mi) east of Mitchell, 306 kilometres (190 mi) east of Morven and east of Charleville. Fly-in fly-out is a method of employing people in remote areas by flying them temporarily to the work site instead of relocating employees and their families permanently. It is often abbreviated to FIFO when referring to employment status. This is common in large mining regions in Australia and Canada. Similar to the fly-in fly-out roster is the DIDO (drive-in drive-out) roster, which has essentially the same benefits and drawbacks. Coalbed methane (CBM or coal-bed methane), coalbed gas, coal seam gas (CSG), or coal-mine methane (CMM) is a form of natural gas extracted from coal beds. In recent decades it has become an important source of energy in United States, Canada, Australia, and other countries. The term refers to methane absorbed into the solid matrix of the coal. It is called 'sweet gas' because of its lack of hydrogen sulfide. The presence of this gas is well known from its occurrence in underground coal mining, where it presents a serious safety risk. Coalbed methane is distinct from a typical sandstone or other conventional gas reservoir, as the methane is stored within the coal by a process called adsorption.
