Milan Belt Railway
The Milan belt railway ( it, Linea di cintura di Milano) is a semicircular railway in Milan, Italy. It links the railway lines converging on the city with each other and the Milano Centrale station. The belt railway was built during the reorganisation of the Milan railway junction, completed in 1931. It replaced an older belt line, which formed a complete ring; only part of the southern section of the old line remains in service. Turin–Milan Railway
The Turin–Milan railway is a major Italian railway that links the cities of Turin and Milan. The railway is double track, standard gauge and fully electrified at 3 kV DC. It connects the cities of Settimo Torinese, Chivasso, Santhià, Vercelli, Novara, Magenta and Rho. Since February 2006 high-speed trains have operated over the Turin–Milan high-speed line between Turin and Novara. The remainder of the high-speed line between Novara and Milan was opened in December 2009, when the Bologna–Florence high-speed line and the remaining sections of the Rome–Naples high-speed railway line and the Naples–Salerno high-speed line are opened, completing the high-speed network between Turin and Salerno. Milan–Bologna Railway
The Milan–Bologna railway is the northern part of the traditional main north–south trunk line of the Italian railway network. It closely follows the ancient Roman Road, the Via Aemilia. The line was opened between 1859 and 1861 as a single-line railway, and was doubled between 1866 and 1894. It was electrified at 3,000 volts DC in 1938. High-speed trains on the route have used the parallel Milan–Bologna high-speed line since 13 December 2008. Milano Rogoredo Railway Station
Milano Rogoredo is a railway station in Milan, Italy. It is one of the key nodes of the Milan suburban railway service as the southern gate of the Milanese urban network. History Early history The station's location was originally (as of 1891) a junction for the old cargo station of Milano Sempione; it became a cargo station itself in 1908. Its function was to serve as the cargo station for the then-autonomous town of Rogoredo, today included in the city administration as part of Milan's southeastern border with San Donato Milanese. Later, in the late 1950s, it was expanded to a passenger station. This step came when the city of Milan started to grow faster and various factories were established in the area, such as the Montedison chemical facility and the Redaelli steel plant.
