Milan Milijaš
Milan Milijaš (; born 12 October 1976) is a Serbian former professional footballer who played as a defender. Club career Milijaš came through the youth system of Zemun and made his league debut in 1995. He amassed 66 appearances and netted two goals in the top flight over the course of two-and-a-half seasons, before completing a move to La Liga side Mallorca in November 1997. Under manager Héctor Cúper, Milijaš played one Copa del Rey game in the remainder of the season. He was subsequently transferred to Segunda División club Málaga. In September 2000, Milijaš returned to his homeland and signed a three-year contract with Partizan. He later rejoined his parent club Zemun. Before hanging up his boots, Milijaš also played for OFK Beograd and Voždovac. International career Milijaš was capped for FR Yugoslavia at under-21 level from 1996 to 1997. Zemun
Zemun ( sr-cyrl, Земун, ; hu, Zimony) is a municipality in the city of Belgrade. Zemun was a separate town that was absorbed into Belgrade in 1934. It lies on the right bank of the Danube river, upstream from downtown Belgrade. The development of New Belgrade in the late 20th century expanded the continuous urban area of Belgrade and merged it with Zemun. The town was conquered by the Kingdom of Hungary in the 12th century and in the 15th century it was given as a personal possession to the Serbian despot Đurađ Branković. After the Serbian Despotate fell to the Ottoman Empire in 1459, Zemun became an important military outpost. Its strategic location near the confluence of the Sava and the Danube placed it in the center of the continued border wars between the Habsburg and the Ottoman empires. In the 1997–98 season Real Club Deportivo Mallorca competed in La Liga and Copa del Rey. Summary The club with the President Bartolome Beltran appointed on 10 July 1997, Argentinian head coach Héctor Cúper from Lanús as its new manager, winning the spot ahead of Portuguese José Mourinho. 2006–07 Serbian SuperLiga
The 2006–07 Serbian SuperLiga (known as the Meridian SuperLiga for sponsorship reasons) season started on 5 August 2006. The winners were Red Star Belgrade with their 25th title. FK Zemun and FK Voždovac were relegated to the 2nd league of Serbia. The SuperLiga will change format from next season with the league no longer being divided into title and relegation groups midway through the campaign. Instead the 12 teams will play each other three times in a conventional league format. The 2000–01 First League of FR Yugoslavia was the ninth season of the FR Yugoslavia's top-level football league since its establishment. It was contested by 18 teams, and Red Star Belgrade won the championship. Incidents Eternal derby abandoned The 115th edition of the Eternal derby match between Red Star Belgrade and FK Partizan on Saturday, 14 October 2000 at the Marakana was abandoned after three minutes of play due to fan rioting. The incident began with Partizan fans, Grobari, pelting the pitch with flares at which point the match play got interrupted. The rioting kept escalating with the southern stand seating being torn off by the Grobari and thrown onto the athletic track. At one point, the team captain Saša Ilić was seen in front of the stand pleading to no avail with the Partizan ultra supporters to stop rioting. The 1997–98 La Liga season, the 67th since its establishment, started on 30 August 1997 and finished on 16 May 1998. 1997–98 First League Of FR Yugoslavia
The 1997–98 First League of FR Yugoslavia was the sixth season of the FR Yugoslavia's top-level football league since its establishment. Overview The league was divided into 2 groups, A and B, consisting each of 10 clubs. Both groups were played in league system. By winter break all clubs in each group meet each other twice, home and away, with the bottom four classified from A group moving to the group B, and being replaced by the top four from the B group. At the end of the season because the two groups league format was being abandoned for the next season and replaced by a single league consisting of 16 clubs, more clubs were relegated, six, and only the two first classified from the Second League of FR Yugoslavia would be promoted. At the end of the season FK Obilić became champions for the first time in their history.
