This means that its neighborhoods and suburbs have the same status as those of smaller cities or villages elsewhere in the country. Algeria, since December 18, 2019, is divided into 58 wilaya, wilayas (province, provinces). Prior to December 18, 2019, there were 48 provinces. Mila ( ar, ميلة, link=no, , ) is a city in the northeast of Algeria and the capital of Mila Province. In antiquity, it was known as Milevum (in Latin; as such still a Latin Catholic titular see) or Miraeon, ''Μιραίον'' (in Ancient Greek) and was situated in the Roman province of Numidia. Aïn Tine or Aïn Tinn (formerly Belfort) is a town and commune in Mila Province, Algeria. At the 1998 census it had a population of 6653.
