Count Miksa Hadik de Futak (german: Maximilian Graf Hadik von Futak) (1868–1921) was a Hungarian diplomat, who served as Austro-Hungarian Ambassador to Mexico from 1909 to 1911 and to Sweden from 1912 to 1918, until end of the First World War. Hungarian Nobility
The Hungarian nobility consisted of a privileged group of individuals, most of whom owned landed property, in the Kingdom of Hungary. Initially, a diverse body of people were described as noblemen, but from the late 12th century only high-ranking royal officials were regarded as noble. Most aristocrats claimed ancestry from a late 9th century Magyar leader. Others were descended from foreign knights, and local Slavic chiefs were also integrated in the nobility. Less illustrious individuals, known as castle warriors, also held landed property and served in the royal army. From the 1170s, most privileged laymen called themselves royal servants to emphasize their direct connection to the monarchs. The Golden Bull of 1222 enacted their liberties, especially their tax-exemption and the limitation of their military obligations. Konstantin Theodor (from 1917 to 1919, Graf von) Dumba (17 June 1856 – 6 January 1947), was an Austro-Hungarian diplomat serving as its last accredited Ambassador to the United States and famous for having been expelled during World War I following accusations of espionage. Life Born in Vienna on 17 June 1856 as the son of Nikolaus Dumba (1830-1900), a wealthy Austrian entrepreneur. The Dumbas, where of Aromanian-Greek descent, originally from the village Vlasti in the Ottoman province of Rumelia, had emigrated and settled in Vienna in 1817. After completing his legal studies and obtaining a doctorate in law, he joined the Austro-Hungarian foreign service in 1879.
