''Miki Howard'' is the third studio album by American R&B singer Miki Howard, released in 1989 on Atlantic Records. The album peaked at No. 4 on the ''Billboard'' Top R&B Albums chart. Howard scored her first number-one song with the lead single released from the album, "Ain't Nuthin' in the World", on the ''Billboard'' R&B Singles chart. The follow-up singles, "Love Under New Management" written by Philly songwriters Gabriel Hardeman, Annette Hardeman and G Syier Hawkins Brown, and a cover of Aretha Franklin's 1974 number-one R&B hit, "Until You Come Back to Me (That's What I'm Gonna Do)", both scored top five success peaking at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, on the R&B Singles chart. Alicia Michelle "Miki" Howard (born September 30, 1960) is an American singer and actress who had a string of top 10 hit songs in the mid-1980s and early 1990s, including " Baby, Be Mine" (1987), " Come Share My Love" (1986) and "Love Under New Management" (1990). " Ain't Nobody Like You" (1992) and "Ain't Nuthin' in the World" (1989) both peaked at number one on the U.S. ''Billboard'' Top R&B Singles chart. Early life Howard was born in Chicago, Illinois. She is the daughter of gospel singers Josephine Howard (1937-1978) of The Caravans and Clay Graham (1936-2018) of The Pilgrim Jubilees. "Until You Come Back to Me (That's What I'm Gonna Do)" is a song written by Morris Broadnax, Clarence Paul, and Stevie Wonder. The song was originally recorded by Stevie Wonder in 1967, but his version was not released as a single and did not appear on an album until 1977's anthology ''Looking Back (Stevie Wonder album), Looking Back''. Larry Blackmon
Larry Ernest Blackmon (born May 24, 1956) is an American vocalist and musician who gained acclaim as the lead singer and founder frontman of the funk and R&B band Cameo. Musical career Starting the band "East Coast", Blackmon formed the "New York City Players" as a complement to the Ohio Players. Having to rename the group because of a conflict, Blackmon later called the group Cameo. Blackmon lived in Harlem and played drums on several hits for the band Black Ivory. He is the son of Lee Black, a former boxer. Along with his unique vocal style, Blackmon's other personal touches included sporting an elaborate hi-top fade haircut and a codpiece over his pants.
