Mikhael Ricks
Mikhael Roy Ricks (born November 14, 1974) is a former National Football League tight end. Ricks attended Anahuac High School in Anahuac, Texas. He went to college at Stephen F. Austin State University, where he played football and basketball. He was drafted in the second round of the 1998 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers. He played in 16 games in his first season with the Chargers. Tight End
The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers adept enough to warrant a defense's attention when running pass patterns. Because of the hybrid nature of the position, the tight end's role in any given offense depends on the tactical preferences and philosophy of the head coach as well as overall team dynamic. The 1998 NFL draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The draft was held April 18–19, 1998, at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The league also held a supplemental draft after the regular draft and before the regular season.
