Michael Hayden Walsh (born 5 March 1938) is an Australian former radio and television presenter, currently focused on owning and operating live theatres, and theatre production both locally and the United Kingdom. Walsh was the first "King of Australian Daytime TV", with his program ''The Mike Walsh Show'', featuring both local and international guests, including Hollywood performers. Early life Walsh was born in Corowa, New South Wales. He completed his education at Xavier College in Melbourne, before studying pharmacy and arts at Melbourne University where he was heavily involved in student theatre revues. Radio career Prior to starring on television Walsh was a disc jockey on 1260 3SR Shepparton and 3XY Melbourne, and a "Good Guy" on Sydney commercial radio station 2SM. The Union Pacific Railroad , legally Union Pacific Railroad Company and often called simply Union Pacific, is a freight-hauling railroad that operates 8,300 locomotives over routes in 23 U.S. states west of Chicago and New Orleans. Union Pacific is the second largest railroad in the United States after BNSF, with which it shares a duopoly on transcontinental freight rail lines in the Western, Midwestern and Southern United States. Michael Thomas Walsh (born 20 June 1956) is an Irish former professional footballer who played for many clubs. A defender, he was probably best known as a captain of Bolton Wanderers and also for gaining honours representing the Republic of Ireland national football team. Playing career Born and raised in Manchester, Walsh was snapped up as a 17-year-old by Bolton Wanderers He made his debut as an 18-year-old and quickly established a reputation as a no-nonsense defender. This was rewarded by his manager Ian Greaves who made him captain. Walsh stayed with Bolton from 1974 to 1981. During this time he made 169 league appearances (+8 as sub), scored 4 goals, and in 1978 led the club to the top flight as champions of the old second division, after narrowly missing promotion the season before. Michael Walsh (born Nuku'alofa, Tonga 1963) is a New Zealand diplomat. Walsh was appointed the High Commissioner of New Zealand to Kiribati in August 2011 to replace former High Commissioner Robert Kaiwai. Walsh also serves concurrently as the Ambassador of New Zealand to the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau. (All High Commissioners to Kiribati are accredited to those three Micronesian countries as well). A career diplomat, Walsh previously served as the Deputy High Commissioner in Pretoria, South Africa; the Deputy Head of Mission in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; and the Second Secretary at the Embassy of New Zealand in Apia, Samoa.
