Mike Turpen
Michael Craig Turpen (born November 10, 1949) is an American lawyer and politician from Oklahoma. A member of the Democratic Party, Turpen served as the Chairman of the Oklahoma Democratic Party and as the Attorney General of Oklahoma from 1983 to 1987. After leaving the Attorney General's Office, Turpen entered private practice. Turpen was appointed by Governor of Oklahoma Brad Henry in 2009 to serve as member of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. Turpen's nine-year term will expire in May 2018. Biography Mike Turpen was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he attended Tulsa Public Schools. After high school, Turpen attended and graduated from the University of Tulsa, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in history in 1972. Henry Bellmon
Henry Louis Bellmon (September 3, 1921 – September 29, 2009) was an American Republican Party (United States), Republican politician from the U.S. State of Oklahoma. A member of the Oklahoma Legislature, he went on to become both the 18th and 23rd governor of Oklahoma, mainly in the 1960s and again in the 1980s, as well as a two-term United States Senator in the 1970s. He was the first Republican to serve as Governor of Oklahoma and, after his direct predecessor George Nigh, only the second governor to be reelected. A World War II veteran, Bellmon served a single term in the Oklahoma House of Representatives, before running for governor. After serving in the U.S. Senate, he returned to serve again as governor and was responsible for passing a large education reform package. David Lee Walters (born November 20, 1951) is an American politician who was the 24th governor of Oklahoma from 1991 to 1995.
