Mike Tipping
Michael Tipping is an American writer, activist, and politician from Maine. A Democrat, Tipping serves in the Maine State Senate representing District 8. He grew up in Orono, Maine and attended Orono High School and Dalhousie University, working as a progressive activist on several statewide referendum questions and for an initiative to clean mercury pollution from the Penobscot River. Tipping announced his run for the Maine Senate in September 2021, and was elected in November of 2022 to his first term. Kimberley Rosen
Kimberley Clark Rosen (born October 8, 1958) is an American politician from Maine. A Republican, Rosen represented the towns of Orrington and her residence in Bucksport in the Maine House of Representatives from 2004 to 2012, when she was unable to run for re-election due to term-limits. She married former State Senator Richard Rosen, whom she replaced as State Representative. Either Richard or Kimberley Rosen represented Bucksport and Orrington from 1998 to 2004. Upon the retirement of Republican State Senator Edward Youngblood in July 2014, Kim Rosen announced she would seek to replace him in the State Senate. She was later chosen as the Republican nominee by caucus. Orono, Maine
Orono () is a town in Penobscot County, Maine, United States. Located on the Penobscot and Stillwater rivers, it was first settled by American colonists in 1774. They named it in honor of Chief Joseph Orono, a sachem of the indigenous Penobscot nation who long occupied this territory. In the nineteenth century, the town became a center of the lumber industry. Sawmills on the rivers were powered by the water, and logs were floated downriver on the Penobscot for shipping and export from coastal ports. Since 1865 it has been the location of the University of Maine, established as a land-grant institution and the state's flagship educational institution. Paul Richard LePage (; born October 9, 1948) is an American politician who served as the 74th Governor of Maine from 2011 to 2019. A member of the Republican Party, LePage served two terms as a city councilor in Waterville, Maine, before being elected Mayor of Waterville in 2004, serving until 2011.
