Turner is a town in Androscoggin County, Maine, United States. The population was 5,817 at the 2020 census. The town includes the villages of Turner, Turner Center and North Turner. The town is part of the Lewiston- Auburn, Maine Metropolitan New England City and Town Area. Beech Ridge Motor Speedway
Beech Ridge Motor Speedway was a 1/3 mile NASCAR-sanctioned asphalt oval auto racing track in Scarborough, Maine. The track is located near the Scarborough Downs horse racing track. Beech Ridge Motor Speedway races on Saturday nights, as well as Thursdays. On Saturdays, the racing consists of the Pro Series, Sport Series, and the Wild Cats. On Thursdays, the Mad Bombers, Beetle Bugs, Mighty Trucks, Ladies and Legends divisions participate. The Pro All Stars Series is a stock car racing governing body active in the United States of America and Canada. The series started in 2001 and now sanctions various series including North, South, and National Super Late Model tours and a New England Modified tour. History The Pro All Stars Series started with the PASS North Pro Stock in 2001. The class was founded by former stockcar racer Tom Mayberry. The series was a successor to the Northeast Pro Stock Association and International Pro Stock Challenge. The first race was held on 20 May 2001 at Lee USA Speedway. Oxford Plains Speedway is a 3/8 mile racetrack located in Oxford, Maine. Established in 1950, the track was originally a half mile before being shortened to a 3/8 mile track. With 14,000 seats, the speedway has the largest seating capacity of any sporting venue in Maine. The main race held there is the HP Hood Oxford 250, which has run under various sanctions over the years; in the early 1990s, the race was a combination race between the NASCAR Busch Series and NASCAR Busch North Series, but it later became an American Canadian Tour Late Model race, and now a Pro All Star Series Super Late Model race.
