Mike Roseberry
Michael Anthony Roseberry (born 28 November 1966 in Pennywell, Sunderland) is a former English cricketer. Mike Roseberry was educated at Durham School, where he formed a reputation as an all-round sportsman. As an exciting right-handed batsman, he was honoured by The Cricket Society. He represented Middlesex in two spells (1984–1994; Cap 1990 and 1999–2001), Durham (1995–1998; Captain 1995-1996). He forged a successful opening partnership for Middlesex with Desmond Haynes and he enjoyed his best season in 1992 with 2,044 runs in first-class cricket. This led to him being chosen for the England "A" tour of Australia. However, his career did not kick on from this height. He left Middlesex to take on the captaincy of his home county of Durham, but suffered a miserable loss of form. Pennywell
Pennywell is one of the UK's largest post-war social housing schemes, and is situated in the central-west area of Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, North East England. Pennywell is the largest local authority housing estate in the City of Sunderland. The estate mostly built during the late 1940s and early 1950s to replace 19th century slums in the centre of Sunderland. The name Pennywell is of Celtic origin and is thought to mean "wellspring at the top of the hill". The Pennywell estate consists of nearly 3,000 homes, around 11% of which are privately owned and has a total population of 10,709 This figure is considerably lower than in previous decades, when the Pennywell area housed over 20,000 people. Andrew Roseberry (born 2 April 1971) is a former English cricketer. Roseberry was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm medium pace. He was born at Sunderland, County Durham. Roseberry made his first-class debut for Leicestershire in 1992 against the touring Pakistanis, in what was his only first-class appearance for the county. Roseberry joined Northumberland in 1993, where he made his Minor Counties Championship against Bedfordshire. From 1993 to 1997, he represented the county in 19 Minor Counties Championship fixtures and 6 MCCA Knockout Trophy matches. In 1994, Roseberry joined Glamorgan, where he made his County Championship debut against Sussex. He played 5 more first-class fixtures for Glamorgan in 1994, with his final first-class match coming against Hampshire. Sunderland Football Club
Sunderland Association Football Club (, ) is an English professional football club based in the city of Sunderland, Tyne and Wear. Formed in 1879, Sunderland play in the Championship, the second tier of English football. Glamorgan County Cricket Club ( cy, Criced Morgannwg) is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Glamorgan ( cy, Morgannwg). Founded in 1888, Glamorgan held minor status at first and was a prominent member of the early Minor Counties Championship before the First World War. In 1921, the club joined the County Championship and the team was elevated to first-class status, subsequently playing in every top-level domestic cricket competition in England and Wales.
