Mike Remmers
Michael Remmers (born April 11, 1989) is an American football offensive tackle for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Oregon State, where he finished his career as the Beaver with the sixth-most starts in school history. He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Denver Broncos in 2012, and has played with eight different franchises in his NFL career, and started two Super Bowls. Early years Remmers was born in Portland, Oregon. His father, Wally Remmers, played football at Oregon State University in the mid-1970s, and his older brother, Vic, played basketball for the Beavers from 2002 to 2006. The Super Bowl is the annual final playoff game of the National Football League (NFL) to determine the league champion. In sports, the practice squad, also called the taxi squad or practice roster, is a group of players signed by a team but not part of their main roster. Frequently used in gridiron football, they serve as extra players during the team's practices, often as part of the scout team by emulating an upcoming opponent's play style. The 2012 NFL draft was the 77th annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible American football players for their rosters. The draft, which is officially called the "NFL Player Selection Meeting", was held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City from April 26 to April 28, 2012. Burlsworth Trophy
The Burlsworth Trophy is an award given annually to the most outstanding FBS college football player who began his career as a walk-on. It was first awarded for the 2010 season and is a program of the Brandon Burlsworth Foundation. Burlsworth walked on to the Arkansas Razorbacks football program in 1994 and became an All-American.
