Mike McCormack (Toronto Police)
Michael McCormack is a retired Toronto Police officer, son of a former Toronto Police Chief, and the president of the Toronto Police Association from 2009 to 2020. Personal life McCormack is the son of former Toronto Police Chief William J. McCormack who headed the Metropolitan Toronto Police Service from 1989 to 1995. He comes from a family of police officers; his paternal grandfather was a police officer in Ireland before being promoted Sergeant Major in charge of the Beau Bassin Police Station on the island of, what was then the British Colony of, Mauritius in the Indian Ocean off Madagascar; his maternal grandfather was connected with the OPP; and three of his four siblings have a connection to policing in Ontario. Scarborough (; 2021 Canadian census, 2021 Census 629,941) is a district of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is situated atop the Scarborough Bluffs in the eastern part of the city. Its borders are Victoria Park Avenue to the west, Steeles Avenue (Toronto), Steeles Avenue to the north, Rouge River (Ontario), Rouge River and the city of Pickering, Ontario, Pickering to the east, and Lake Ontario to the south. The ''Toronto Sun'' is an English-language tabloid newspaper published daily in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The newspaper is one of several ''Sun'' tabloids published by Postmedia Network. The newspaper's offices is located at Postmedia Place in downtown Toronto. The newspaper published its first edition in November 1971, after it had acquired the assets of the defunct ''Toronto Telegram'', and hired portions of the ''Telegram''s staff. In 1978, Toronto Sun Holdings and Toronto Sun Publishing were consolidated to form Sun Publishing (later renamed Sun Media Corporation).
