Mike Greene (British Entrepreneur)
Mike Greene is a British entrepreneur who founded the Association of Retail Newsagents and has also been a board member of the Association of Convenience Stores for 20 years. In 2015 he founded My Local in an attempt to turn around Morrisons' 125 failing M Local convenience shops. In 2011 he appeared on the Channel 4 show ''The Secret Millionaire''. Greene contested the June 2019 Peterborough by-election as a candidate for the Brexit Party. Although favoured by bookmakers, he only achieved second place, with 29% of the vote, 683 votes behind Lisa Forbes, who retained the seat for Labour. He beat both the other two of the 'big three' parties, the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats. Reform UK is a right-wing populist political party in the United Kingdom. Lisa Jane Forbes (born 28 July 1969) is a British Labour Party politician who served as the Member of Parliament for Peterborough from a June 2019 by-election to the general election in December that year. Early career Forbes, who is a member of GMB, was an official in Unite the Union. She has worked for Thomas Cook. Early political career Forbes was elected as a Labour councillor for Orton Longueville ward on Peterborough City Council in 2012, standing down in 2016 to focus on her parliamentary candidacy.
